15) Surah Kawthar, 108
-“And truly the Hereafter will be better than the present” (Q)
-“Rejected were the Messengers before thee; with patience and constancy
they bore their rejection” (Q)
-“Only those who are patient shall receive the rewards in full measure” (Q)
-“And establish regular prayer in order to remember Me” (Q)
History and Importance of the Holy Quran
Hadith and Quran in Legal thinking
-“Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other
than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradiction” (Q)
-“This is a Book in it for sure, without doubt, guidance for those who fear
Allah”

Ijma and Qias in Legal thinking


-“My community (ummah) will never unanimously agree upon an error”-
Prophet on Ijma

-“May Allah illuminate the grave of Umar as he has illuminated our


mosques”- Hazrat Ali on Hazrat Umar’s death, Hazrat Umar had brought in
Taraweeh prayers by Ijma

-“Allah’s hand is with the community”-Holy Prophet (PBUH)


-“And consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put
your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.”
-“O believers, fear Allah and be with the truthful”- People believe this verse
of the Quran legitimatizes Ijma
-“O you who believe obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in
authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and
his Messenger…”

“O you who believe, put not yourselves before the God and his Apostle” (Q).
This verse leads some people to believe that Qiyas shouldn’t be used as you
are putting yourself before God and the Holy Prophet.
-“Every intoxicant is khamar, so every intoxicant is Haram”-Prophet (PBUH)

-“Judge upon the Book of Allah, if you do not find in it what you need, upon
the Sunnah of the Prophet and if you do not find in it also, then use your
personal opinion”-Prophet

-“Learn a lesson, O you who have vision to see” (Q). Others think this verse
allows use of Qiyas.
-“I adjudicate amongst you by opinion in what has not been dealt with by
inspiration”- Prophet (PBUH) on Qiyas

-“We have sent down this message, and We will assuredly guard it” (Q)
-“If I had been asked to uproot a mountain and put it at another place it
would have been easier task than the compilation of the Holy Quran”- Zaid-

Revelations between 620-632


“Read in the name of your Lord
Who created Man
Created man from a clot of congealed blood
Proclaim for your Lord is moist Bountiful
Who taught by the pen
Taught man that which he knew not” (FIRST REVELATION)
-“It comes to me sometimes as the ringing of the bell and this is hardest on
me, then the (angel) leaves me and I remember from him what he says; and
sometimes the angel comes in shape of a man and he talks to me and I
remember what he says”- Prophet giving an account on how he received
revelations
-“This is the Book, in it is sure, without a doubt, guidance for those who fear
Allah” (Q)
-“On an intensely cold winter day, I saw sweat dripping from the hand of
Allah’s Apostle when he received a revelation”-Hazrat Aisha on Prophet’s
sate during revelation
-“The Messenger of Allah’s knee was leaning on mine once when he received
a revelation. I felt such a heavy burden I thought my knees would be
broken”-Zaid Bin Thabit on Prophet receiving a revelation
Life of the Holy Prophet
Childhood, Hilf-ul-Fudul, Life as Shepherd
-“Verily I am the most perfect Arab amongst you; my descent is from Quraish
and my tongue is the tongue of Banu Saad”- Holy Prophet
-“Verily Mohammad has been murdered”- Hazrat Mohammad’s foster siblings
to Halima Saadia after seeing Jibrael (AS) take his heart out

-Gabriel threw him to the ground, took his heart and took out a clot of blood
from it saying, “This was Satan’s share of you”. Then he washed it with a vessel
of gold filled with Zam-Zam and put it back together, returning it to its place

-“Did he not find you an Orphan and give you shelter (and care)” (Q)
-“I uphold the pact concluded in my presence when Ibn Judan gave us a great
banquet. Should it ever be invoked, I shall immediately rise to answer the call”-
Pact of Hilf-ul-Fudul, the Holy Prophet was present at this pact

-“I was present in the house g Abdullah-bin-Judan at so excellent a pact that I


would not exchange my part in it for a herd of red camels; and if now in Islam, I
were summoned unto it, I would gladly respond..”-Hazrat Muhammad

-“Allah sent no Prophet who was not a shepherd. Moses was a shepherd,
Dawood was also a shepherd.”-Prophet (PBUH)

Marriage with Khadija and Fixing of Black Stone


-“She was the wife who believed in me when other rejected me. When people
refused to believe me, she affirmed my truthfulness. When I stood forsaken, she
spent her wealth to lighten the burden of my sorrow”- Prophet to Hazrat Aisha
about Hazrat Khadija
-“He found you in need and made you independent”- Quran on marriage with
Khadija, who spent her wealth for the Prophet
-“This is the trustworthy (Al-Amin) one, this is Muhammad”- Mekkans when
they saw that Prophet was first one to enter the Kabah and would decide what
to do with the Holy stone, Hajr-e-Aswad during the reconstruction of the Kabah.

First Revelation till Persecutions


-“Read in the name of your Lord
Who created Man
Created man from a clot of congealed blood
Proclaim for your Lord is moist Bountiful
Who taught by the pen
Taught man that which he knew not”

-“O Mohammad you are the Messenger of Allah and I am Jibrael”- Angel Jibrael
to Prophet (PBUH) after first revelation

-“You were wandering and we gave you guidance”- Quran on Prophet hood

-“Rejoice, O son of my Uncle, and be of good heart. Surely by Him in whose


hand is Khadija’s soul, I hae hope you will be the Prophet of this people”- Hazrat
Khadija comforting the Prophet after First revelation

-“Allah wil never disgrace you as you keep good relations with your kith and kin,
speak the truth, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously
and assist the deserving calamity afflicted ones”- Hazrat Khadija comforting the
Holy Prophet after First Revelation

-“This is the same one who keeps the secrets (Angel Jibrael), whom Allah had
sent to Moses”- Warqa-bin-Naufil to Holy Prophet

-“O you wrapped in a mantle! Arise and deliver thy warning!...”- Second
revelation

-“Allah created me without consulting Abu Talib, my father. Why then should I
consult him in order to worship Allah?”- Hazrat Ali’s conversion to Islam
-“And admonish thy nearest kinsmen”- Prophet receive revelation to invite him
family to Islam

-“I am the youngest of you; I may be a boy, my feet may not yet be strong, but O
Mohammad I shall be your helper. Whoever opposes you, I shall fight him as a
mortal enemy”- Hazrat Ali’s proclamation at dinner with Banu Hashim and Banu
Abdul Mutlib, the elders laughed and left.

-“Proclaim what you thou art commanded and turn away from the pagans”-
Prophet told to start open preaching by Allah

-“The two hands of Abu Lahab perished, and he perished”- Allah’s revelation
when Abu Lahab cursed the Prophet at Mount Safa

-“May the hands of Abu Lahab perish; doomed he is. His wealth and properties
shall not save him”- Allah’s revelation when Abu Lahab cursed the Prophet at
Mount Safa

-“We shall not believe in you until you cause spring to gush forth for us from the
earth”- Quraish to Prophet

-“..then he [Waleed-bin-Mugheera] said, ”This is nothing but magic from that of


old”- Waleed-bin-Mugheera on the Prophets miracles, he was an enemy of
Islam.

-“But if they see a sign, they turn away and say ‘This is continuous magic’”-
Quran on Quraish’s reaction at the signs of Allah

-“Why was not Quran sent down to some leading man in either two of the chief
cities”- Quraish to Hazrat Muhammad’s status when he declared Prophethood

-“O family of Yasir, be patient and you will certainly find your place in paradise”-
The Holy Prophet when he once passed by and saw the early converts, Amaar-
bin-Yasir, his father; Yasir and his mother; Bibi Sumaiyh being tortured by the
Quraish
-“Or think you, that you will enter paradise without such (trials) as came to
those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty
and ailments.”- Prophet to the early converts who faced tortures

-“And indeed messengers were rejected before thee”- Quran when Quraish
denied Prophets Message

-“Only those who are patient shall receive the rewards in full measure”- Quran
on persecutions

-“O Uncle, by Allah, if they place the sun in my right hand and the moon in my
left and ask me to give up my mission. I shall not, until Allah makes me
victorious or I perish therein”- Prophet to Abu Talib when he told the Prophet of
the threat of Quraish and the burden being put on him

-“You have your religion, I have mine”- Prophet when the Quraish tried to
bargain, telling him they would worship Allah for one year if the Prophet
worshiped Lut and Uzza for one year.

-“Your Satan has forsaken you”- The Quraish during the period where
revelations stopped until Surah Duha was revealed

Migration to Abyssinia, Year of Grief, Miraj, Visit to Taif, Pledges of


Aqabah
-“Good is the (reward for) those who do good in this world, and Allah’s earth is
spacious”- Allah giving permission for migration to Abyssinia

-“They were the first to migrate in the cause of Allah after Ibrahim and Lut”-
Hazrat Muhammad on migration of Hazrat Usman and Bibi Ruqayya to
Abyssinia

-“O King!...We have believed in Muhammad, and his injunctions to worship


Allah alone…for this reason, our people have risen against us...”- Hazrat Jaffar to
Negus, King of Abyssinia
-“Muslims are free to live and worship in my realm as they please”- Negus to
Quraish envoy
-“By God this and the Gospel are the lights of one candel”- Negus after hearing
Hazrat Jaffar recite Surah Maryam

-“And we will surely test you out of something of fear and hunger and a loss of
lives and wealth and fruits but give glad tidings to the patient”- Quran on the
boycott of Banu Hashim and Banu Abdul Muttlib

-“The Quraish didn’t have an effect on me such as they did after the death of
Abu Talib” –Prophet on death of Abu Talib. After Year of Grief Abu Lahab
became chief of Quraish and the political influence which provided security over
his nephew ended with Abu Talib’s death.

-“Why should I pray for the destruction of these people? I hope their posterity
will certainly be among the believers in One Allah”- Prophet when Angel Jibrael
offered to crush the people of Taif between two mountains

-“You are from my brother, Yunus’s nation”- Prophet to the Christian slave
Adas, who brought him grapes in Utba-bin-Rabiya’s orchards on the outskirts of
Taif while the Prophet was bleeding. Adas accepted Islam

-“All praises are for Him who took his servant (Muhammad) to a journey by
night from the sacred mosque (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (at
Jerusalem)”- Quran on Al-Isra

-“You have chosen the Fitrah. Had you selected the wine, your nation would
have gone astray”- Angel Jibrael’s answer to Prophet after he brought him two
glasses during Al-Isra, one glass of milk and one glass of wine. The Prophet
chose the glass of Milk.

-“I have asked my Lord till I am ashamed to face him”- Hazrat Muhammad to
Hazrat Musa when he asked him to further reduce the number of 5 prayers

-“We will not worship anyone but One Allah; we will not steal; neither will we
commit adultery, nor kill our children; we will not utter slander, intentionally
forging falsehood and we will not disobey you in any matter”- First Pledge of
Aqabah
-“We take him (the Prophet) despite all threats to property, wealth and life. Tell
us, O Prophet of Allah what will be our reward if we remain true to this oath?”
The Prophet answered, “Paradise”
[Second Pledge of Aqabah]

Migration to Madinah, Battle of Badr, Battle of Uhad, Battle of


Trench/Ahzab/Khandaq/the Allies

-“And we have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them and we
have covered them up so that they cannot see”- Allah on blinding the assassins
sent to kill Prophet.

-”Remember how the unbelievers plotted against you, to keep you in bonds, or
slay you, or get you out (of your home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans,
and Allah is the best of the planners.”- Quran’s revelation revealing how the
pagans had gathered in Dar-un-Nadwa and had planned to kill the Prophet.

-“Have no fear, for Allah is with us”- Prophet (PBUH) to Abu Bakr in Cave of
Thaur

-“O Allah no bliss is there but that of the hereafter, I beseech you to forgive the
immigrants and helpers”- Prophet kept on reciting this verse while building
Masjid-e-Nabwi

-“There is a mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on piety; it is
more worthy of thy standing forth (for prayer) therein. In it are men who love to
be purified; and Allah loveth those who make themselves pure”- Quran on
Masjid-e-Nabwi

-“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah and be not divided
among yourselves, and remember Allah’s favor upon you, for you were enemies
one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you
became brethren (in Islamic faith)”- Quran on Mawakhat, Brotherhood between
Muhajireen and Ansar.
-“Let there be no compulsion in religion”- Quran allows other religions, Jews are
given freedom of faith in Charter of Madinah, and Islam is not to be forced on
anyone.

-“Establish regular prayer and pay Zakat”- Prophet(SAW). Allah made Zakat
compulsory in 624 AD.

-“We see the turning of your face (for guidance) to the heavens; now shall We
turn you to a Qiblah that shall please you. Turn then your face in the direction
of the sacred Mosque”- Quran on changing Qiblah from Bait-ul-Muqadas in
Jerusalem to the Holy Kaabah in Mekka

BATTLE OF BADR

-“Fight those who fight you, but do not transgress limitations”-Permission of


Jihad given before Battle of Badr

-“O Allah, if this small band of followers perishes, there will be no one alive to
worship You, your faith will be destroyed forever”- Prophet to Allah before
Battle of Badr started

-The Prophet asked for Allah’s help at Badr and Allah sent help, “I will assist you
with a thousand of the angels, each behind the other in succession.”

-“When two parties from among you were about to lose heart, but Allah was
their WALI (supporter and protector).”- Quran on Badr

-“And in Allah should the believers put their trust”- Quran on Muslims putting
their trust in their Lord at Badr

-“There is no victory except from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise”- Allah
grants Muslims victory at Badr

-With the help of Allah, the Muslims won, as the Quran says, “Allah helped you
at Badr, when you were a contemptible little force”
BATTLE OF UHAD
-“Those of you who turned back on the day the two hosts met,…it was Satan
who caused them to fail”
-“Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on
before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your
heels?”-Quran

-“What you suffered on the day the two hosts met, was with the leave of Allah,
in order that He might test the Believers”

-“When Allah showed you (the Muslims) what (the spoils) you coveted”

-“…let those who do against the command of the Messenger fear lest some
trials befall them or painful torments overtake them”

-“This is a day of (revenge) for Badr and the issue of war is undecided”- Abu
Sufyan to Muslims

-“Hamzah killed Tuaima-bin-Adi-bin-Al-Khaiyar at Badr so my master, Jubair-bin-


Mut’im said to me, ‘If you kill Hamzah in revenge for my Uncle, then you will be
set free.’”

BATTLE OF AHZAB/TRENCH
-“When they came against you, from above you and from below you, and when
your eyes swerved and your hearts reached your throats, and you thought
thoughts about Allah; there it was that the believers were tried, and shaken
most mightily”

-“And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease (of doubts)
said Allah and his messenger promise us nothing but delusions”- Quran on the
time the hypocrites were having doubts during Battle of Trench

-“And a band among them (the Muslim force) ask for permission of the Prophet
saying, ‘Truly, our homes lie open (to the enemy)’ And they lay not open, they
but wished to flee”
-“O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when
armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of
angels].”

-“War is deceit”- Prophet, after sending spies who spread rumors, creating
confusion and disunity between the Jews and Quraish.

-“Allah spared the believers a fight. Surely Allah is strong, mighty”- Quran when
Allah sent forth a great storm tearing the enemies tents and creating chaos
which led to the Siege on Madinah being lifted, the Quraish dispersing in
confusion and the Muslims avoiding a fight

TREATY OF HUDAIBIYA
-“Truly did Allah fulfill the vision for His Messenger: you shall enter the Sacred
Mosque, if Allah wills, with minds secure, and without fear…”

-“Allah’s Good pleasure was on the Believers when they swore fealty to thee
under the tree: He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down tranquility
to them: and He rewarded them with a speedy victory”- Quranic revelation
when the Muslims swore to fight if Hazrat Usman had been killed,
Bait-e-Rizwaan
-“Verily we have granted thee a manifest victory”- Allah

LETTER TO HERACLIUS, ROMAN EMPEROR

-“Muhammad (PBUH) descends from a noble family, No one of his family


happened to assume king share. His followers are those considered weak with
numbers ever-growing. He neither tells lies nor betrays others”- When Heraclius
got the message of invitation to Islam from the Holy Prophet he invited Abu
Sufyan to his court, who was already in the kingdom with a few caravans, Abu
Sufyan’s account of Heraclius impressed Heraclius but he didn’t accept Islam,
however he sent a polite reply.
KHYBER EXPEDITION
-“Tomorrow I will give the banner to the one who loves Allah and his messenger
and Allah and his messenger love him”- Prophet before giving banner and
leadership of troops to Hazrat Ali in the Khyber Expedition

-“Allah has promised you abundant spoil that you will capture”- Quran on the
booty collected at Khyber

-“The Prophet made a deal with the people of Khayber that they (the Muslims)
would have half the fruits and vegetation of the land they cultivated”- Reported
by Ibn-Umar

BATTLE OF MU’TA
-“Fight the disbelievers in the name of Allah, neither for plunder nor for the
spoils”- Prophet to Muslim Army before Battle of Mutah

-“I swear by God that the very object you were trying to avoid is the one you
have set out seeking, MARTYDOM”-Roman leaders taunt to Muslims before
Battle of Mutah

-“If Zaid is killed Jafar-bin-Abu Talib will be your commander, and if he is also
martyred then Abdullah-bin-Rawahah will take the command. If he too dies
then you can select a commander from among yourselves”-Prophet chose Zaid-
bin-Harith to lead Battle of Mutah and gave instructions of who would lead the
battle if he died. Muslims faced 100,000 Romans when they themselves
numbered 3,000. ALL three of these leaders died one by one, and Khalid-bin-
Waleed brought the remaining forces safely back to Madinah.

CONQUEST OF MAKKAH
-“Truth has arrived and falsehood has perished, and falsehood is bound to
perish”- Prophet’s recitation while destroying idols in Kaaba during Conquest of
Makkah.
-“I will treat you as Yusuf treated his brothers, there shall be no reproach
against you this day, go you are free”- Prophet (PBUH) to people of Quraish who
had persecuted him and his followers for years

-“O the group of Ansar! Won’t you be happy that the people take the worldly
things and you take Allah’s Apostle to your homes reserving him for yourself?”-
When the Prophet was distributing the spoils of war he didn’t give any to the
Ansar at this the Ansar’s expressed how they were called for fighting but didn’t
get the spoils of war, then the Prophet said these words to them and they
replied, ”Yes”.

-“When comes the help of Allah, and victory and you see the people enter
Allah’s religion in multitudes, celebrate the praises of your Lord, and pray for His
forgiveness”- Quran on the Conquest

BATTLE OF HUNAIN
-“And on the day of Hunain when you rejoiced at your great number but it
availed you naught and the earth, vast as it is straighten for you, then you
turned back in fright”- Quran on the Battle of Hunain, when Muslims started
panicking and some of them started fleeing

-“O Messenger of Allah, I am Shaima, your foster sister, daughter of Abu Kabsha
and Halima Saadia bint Zuwaib”- The Prophet’s foster sister was one of the
captives at Hunain, she accepted Islam and later just because she was the foster
sister of the Prophet the Muslims released 6000 captives of war which they had
captured at Hunain.

SIEGE OF TAIF
-When the companions said “Messenger of Allah, Thaqif’s arrows have scorched
us, so supplicate Allah to punish them”, he said, “O Allah, give guidance to
Thaqif”-Prophet didn’t curse the Taif tribes of Thaqif and Hawazin who were
skillful archers and threw spears at Muslims, keeping them at bay. In 20 days
the Siege lifted and in 630 all of Taif accepted Islam.
TABUK EXPEDITION
-“Like Satan when he says to man to disbelieve in Allah but when he disbelieves
then he says ‘I have nothing to do with you’”- Quran compares Abdullah-bin-
ubbay, leader of the hypocrites to Satan. He kept demoralizing the Muslims
during the Tabuk expedition, saying the temperature was too harsh, the
opponent was too strong, it was time for harvest etc.

-“…they turned back with their eyes overflowing tears of grief”- Quran talks
about the people who were full of grief when they were left behind during the
Tabuk expedition as there weren’t enough resources or camels.

-“Would it not suffice you to be my successor as Haroon was to Musa, but no


Prophet succeeds me…”- Prophet told Hazrat Ali to stay in Madinah and look
after his family, the hypocrites of Madinah taunted Hazrat Ali that the Prophet
had left him so Hazrat Ali got angry and caught up with the Muslim army to join
them in the expedition but Prophet (PBUH) reassured him with these words and
he went back to Madinah.

-“They swear by Allah that they said nothing (evil) but indeed they uttered
blasphemy and they did it after accepting Islam; and they meditated a plot
which they were unable to carry out”- Allah on the hypocrites who tried to
assassinate the Holy Prophet during the Tabuk Expedition.

DEATH OF HAZRAT IBRAHIM


“The sun and the moon are two signs of Allah, they do not eclipse because of
the death of someone, and so when the eclipse occurs, pray and invoke Allah till
the eclipse ends”- Prophet when eclipse happened on the same day as Ibrahim,
the Prophet’s son’s death.
FAREWELL PILGRIMAGE= HUJJAT-UL-WIDA
FAREWELL SERMON
- “O People! Listen to my words I do not know whether, after this year, I
shall be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you
carefully and take these words to those who could not be present today”
- “Allah has forbidden you to take usury…”
- “Do treat your women and be kind to them”
- “You have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have
rights over you…”
- “Worship Allah, say your five daily prayers, fast during the month of
Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford
to.”
- “Every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, you are all equal…”
- “Remember one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your
deeds…”
- “O People! No Prophet or Apostle will come after me and no new faith
will be born..”
- “Let him that is present tell it to him who is absent”

After the sermon was over the Prophet prayed his combined Zuhr and Asr
prayer and the Last revelation came in the plain of Arafat, “This day I have
perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you and chosen
Islam as your way of life”

Jahsh. This established the concept that the father could marry their APOPTED
son’s wife and vice versa but the biological son’s wife or the biological father’s
wife couldn’t be married.
-“Zainab-bint-Jahsh…used to boast before other wives of the Prophet and say,
“Allah married me (to the Prophet) in the Heavens”- Sahih Bukhari
-“The longest handed (generous) of my wives shall be the first to join me in
Paradise”- Hazrat Zainab-bint-Jahsh died first from among the Prophet’s wives
after his death

UMM-E-HABIBAH
-“Negus then married her to the Apostle of Allah”- After her husbands
converted to Christianity

Safya-bint-Huyayy or Zaynab-bint-Huyayy
-“You are a Prophet’s daughter, your paternal uncle was a Prophet, so what has
she (Hazrat Hafsa) to boast over you?”- Prophet to Hazrat Safya when he saw
her crying because Hazrat Hafsa had taunted her for previously being a Jew.
-“Her Mahr was herself, for he manumitted her”- Hazrat Anas when Hazrat Zaid-
bin-Thabit asked what the Prophet had given Hazrat Safya in Mahr

-“Maimunah was very god fearing and had a great regard for the rights of her
kith and kin”- Hazrat Aisha

Hazrat Fatima
-“Fatima is a part of me; whoever hurts her, hurts me and whoever holds a
malice against her, holds malice against me”- Prophet (PBUH)

when Hazrat Ali asked him if he was dearer to her or Hazrat Fatimah.
-“Once the Prophet was in the state of prostration, Uqba-bin-Abi-Mu’at came
and brought the intestines of a camel and threw them on the back of the
Prophet. The Prophet did not raise his head from prostration till his daughter
Fatimah came and removed those intestines from his back”- Sahih Bukharie

-“They were the first to migrate in the cause of Allah after Ibrahim and Lut”-

-“She is the best of my daughters, who bore great pain on my behalf”- prophet
(PBUH)

-“Had I another daughter, I would have given her in marriage to Usman again”-
Hazrat Muhammad after death of Umm-e-Kulsoom. Both Ruqqaya and Umm-e-
Kulsoom were married to Hazrat Usman one by one and both died one by one.

-“The most compassionate member of my people towards my people is
Abu-Bakr”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“All the gates of the Mosque should be closed except the gate of Abu
Bakr”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“Abu Bakr was the only person who accepted Islam without any
reluctance or hesitation, and without any argument”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“If I were to take a Khalil other than my Lord I would have taken Abu
Bakr”- Prophet
-“Have no fear for Allah is with us”- Holy Prophet to Hazrat Abu Bakr in
Cave of Thaur
-“Whoever among you worshipped Muhammad, the Muhammad is dead,
but whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and will never die”- Abu Bakr

-“And he who comes with truth and he who confirms it…such are the people

2) Umar-Ibn-Khittab
-“Were a Prophet to come after me, it would have been Umar”- Prophet

-“Allah placed truth upon the tongue of Umar and his heart”- Prophet

-“I am migrating to Madinah. If anyone wants to check me, let him come

-“For every apostle of Allah there was a constant companion and my
companion in Paradise will be Usman”- Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)

-“Even the Angels of Allah envy the modesty of Usman”- Prophet (PBUH)
4) Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu Talib
-“Verily if I am the city of knowledge, Ali is its gate”- Prophet (PBUH)

-“O Allah, put truth on his tongue, and enlighten his heart with the light of

-“The most learned in legal matters is Ali”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“Tomorrow I will give the banner to the one who loves Allah and his

banner and leadership of troops to Hazrat Ali in the Khyber Expedition

5) Hazrat Abdur-Rehman-bin-Auf
-“May Allah bless you in your family and property; guide me to the
market”- Hazrat Abdur Rehman bin Auf to his Muwakhaat brother,
Saad bin Ar-Rabi-al-Ansari, when his brother offered him half his wealth.

6) Hazrat Sa’ad bin Abi Waqas


-“I am the first of Arabs who shot with an arrow in the way of Allah”-
Saad bin Abi Waqas’s arrow which he shot resulted in the first bloodshed
in the way of Islam
-“O Lord! Direct his shooting and respond to his prayer”- Muhammad
(PBUH) recited this as he handed Sa’ad bin Abi Waqas arrows. Hazrat
Sa’ad was protecting Hazrat Muhammad during the Battle of Uhad.

7) Hazrat Ubaida-bin-Jarrah
-“Every nation has an extremely trustworthy man, and the trustworthy
man of this nation is Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“For every people there is a man of trust and the man of trust for this
people is Abu Ubaidah”- Prophet (PBUH)

8) Talha Ibn Ubaydullah

-“Who so is pleased to see a martyr walking on the surface of the earth let
him look at Talha bin Ubaidullah”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“Talha and Zubair are my neighbors in paradise” Prophet (PBUH)

-“There was a helper for every Prophet and my helper is Zubair”- Prophet

-“The one who has most knowledge about what is lawful and what is prohibited

-“Those who believed and those who suffered exile and fought in the path of
Allah, they have the hope of the mercy of Allah”(Q)
-“…Those who have left their homes, and were driven out therefrom, and
suffered harm in my cause, and fought and were slain…verily, I will blot them
from their inequities” (Q)

-“Those who believed and adopted exile and fought for the faith with their
property and their person, in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave
(them) asylum and aid, these are (all) friends and protectors of one another”

-“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah and be not divided
among yourselves, and remember Allah’s favor upon you, for you were enemies
one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you
became brethren (in Islamic faith)”- Quran on Mawakhat, Brotherhood between
Muhajireen and Ansar.

“O Uhad! Be firm, for on you there is none but a Prophet, a Siddiq and two
martyrs,”- Prophet climbed with Hazrat Abu Bakr, Usman and Umar on Mount
Uhad, before the battle, saying this.

1) Hazrat Abu Bakr Ibn Siddiq


-“The most compassionate member of my people towards my people is Abu-
Bakr”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“All the gates of the Mosque should be closed except the gate of Abu Bakr”-
Prophet (PBUH)
-“Abu Bakr was the only person who accepted Islam without any reluctance or
hesitation, and without any argument”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“If I were to take a Khalil other than my Lord I would have taken Abu Bakr”-
Prophet
-“Have no fear for Allah is with us”- Holy Prophet to Hazrat Abu Bakr in Cave of
Thaur
-“Whoever among you worshipped Muhammad, the Muhammad is dead, but
whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and will never die”- Abu Bakr after the
Prophet’s death
-“And he who comes with truth and he who confirms it…such are the people
who do right”- (Q)

2) Hazrat Umar-Ibn-Khittab
-“Were a Prophet to come after me, it would have been Umar”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“ The sun has not risen over a man better than Umar”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“Allah placed truth upon the tongue of Umar and his heart”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“I am migrating to Madinah. If anyone wants to check me, let him come out, I
am sure that his mother would cry for his life”- Hazrat Umar announced this in
front of the Kaa’ba before migrating to Madinah.
-“The most rigorous (strict) regarding Allah’s affair is Umar”- Prophet

3) Hazrat Usman Ibn Affan


-“For every apostle of Allah there was a constant companion and my companion
in Paradise will be Usman”- Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)
-“The most genuinely modest is Usman”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“Even the Angels of Allah envy the modesty of Usman”- Prophet (PBUH)

4) Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu Talib


-“Verily if I am the city of knowledge, Ali is its gate”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“You are my brother in this world and the hereafter”- Prophet to Hazrat Ali
during Mawakhaat
-“O Allah, put truth on his tongue, and enlighten his heart with the light of
gardens”- Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to Allah on Hazrat Ali
-“You pertain to me and I pertain to you”- Hazrat Muhammad to Hazrat Ali
-“The most learned in legal matters is Ali”- Prophet (PBUH)
-“Tomorrow I will give the banner to the one who loves Allah and his
messenger and Allah and his messenger love him”- Prophet before giving
banner and leadership of troops to Hazrat Ali in the Khyber Expedition

-“Would it not suffice you to be my successor as Haroon was to Musa, but no


Prophet succeeds me…”- Prophet told Hazrat Ali to stay in Madinah and look
after his family, the hypocrites of Madinah taunted Hazrat Ali that the Prophet
had left him so Hazrat Ali got angry and caught up with the Muslim army to join
them in the expedition but Prophet (PBUH) reassured him with these words and
he went back to Madinah.
