JESUS CHRIST

You have seen now how helpless and tragic is man' s condition - yours - because of sin. Man is utterly
helpless by himself - yourself.

But the Bible says, "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (ROM 6:23). What does
this mean?

It means that God provided a "way out" from man's helpless and hopeless condition. Not because man,
yourself, has done anything worthwhile to earn or deserve it, but because God is love. His love is such
that man's intellect or re@son fail to comprehend.

Because of and in this love God provided a way for man by the Greatest sacrifice of love in the world.

"FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER
BELIEVETH IN HM SHOULD NOT PERISH , BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE (John 3:16).

Here in God's love we meet Jesus Christ. His only begotten Son"

Jesus Christ is not an initiator of another religion. He is not merely a great moral reformer or
outstanding philosopher. He is not a great man as we know other great men in history.

Jesus ChriBut is the son of God. He is God.

Let us again go back to the Bible where we find our final answer:

"All things were made by Him (Jesus) and without Him was not anything made that was made. " (John
1:3)

"I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth, and was dead and behold, I am alive forever more.
"(Rev.1:17,18).

More reference can be found in: Heb 13: 8, Col 1:16.

And finally Jesus says this to herself. "I and my father are one" (John 10:30)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born of the virgin Mary approximately two thousand (2000) years ago
in a small town called Bethlehem in the country called Palestine (Matt 1:23), Luke 1:35)

For the first 30 years of His earthly life he worked as a carpenter's son.for the next three years, He
traveled throughout the country of Palestine and taught and proclaimed the message of Salvation. He
performed many miracles - including raising of dead man. His teachings were new, powerful and with
authority (Matt. 5 -the entire chapter).

Now you must open your Bible to the new testament and read the following portions together: Matt 8:
1-4, 23-27; 9:1-8, Mark 5:35-43; 10:46-52, Luke 13:10-17; 15:3-7, John 8:1-11, 9:1-12; 11:1-44. (Read
each portion carefully and prayerfully, asking God to show you the meaning. Unless you have read them
well there is no use to proceed to the next point.

After the three years of His public ministry among men Jesus was crucified on the cross.

Why?

Because that was why he came to the world. A price for man's, your sin had to be paid for, it was the
only way to save man and God in His love wanted to save His beloved creature from sin. And, as we have
already seen, the wages of sin was death. So the price to be paid was death.

Jesus died paying the price of sin, "to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself." (Heb. 9:26).

Thus in the death of Christ, the one without sin, - man, yourself finds the solution to his sin and death.

But this is not the end. After three days of His death Jesus arose from the dead. His resurrection as a fact
is clearly recorded in Matt. 28:1-6, Mark 16:1-6, Luke 24:1-6, John 22:1-10, 24-29

The story of the resurrection of Christ is not a tale or legend, it is a historical fact. The men who wrote
the Gospels lived during the time of Jesus and witnessed the fact themselves.

After His resurrection, He stayed with His disciples for forty(40) days. And then finally, He returned to
the right hand of God The Father, where He originally came from (Acts 1:9-11: Luke 24:52: Mark 16:17).

Presently, Jesus the Son of God is with God The Father and watching over man, yourself.

"Lo, I am with you always, even unto thee the end of the world." (Matt. 28:20)

Now you have studied the life of Christ, let us then conclude this chapter by thinking on Jesus of the
following, He is the Son of God and He is God. Because He is God, Jesus Christ knows all things, Is
everywhere with you, is with you always, Is unchanging and changeless, Is Holy, Is just and righteous, is
eternal and Jesus is Love.

Because Jesus is the Son of God "in Him is no sin". Because there was no sin in Him, He could pay the
price of sin and He did. Because of this, He alone can forgive your sin and mine. Because He forgives sin
of man, yours, you find the final solution to sin and death in Him.

Furthermore, because He lived in this world and ate and slept and worked as a man, He understands
man's, your sorrow and joy, hopes and heartaches, burdens and happiness. And Jesus cares for you in
these.

Man, you, can be supremely happy when he finds his way to God. But sin blocks this way, as we have
already studied. To this Jesus says:

"I am the way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes unto the father, but by ME." (John 14:6)

ETERNAL LIFE
Now we ce to the final chapter of this lesson - The three things you must Believe.

In the second chapter we studied that it is only through Jesus Christ that our sins are forgiven and you
are saved. Then the question that comes to your mind is:

"Sirs, what must I do to be saved," ( Acts 16:30).

In fact, this is not a new question. Man has asked this question down through the generations for he
must face this question of life once in his earthly sojourn. Whether be gets or seeks for the right answer
- man inevitably asks this question.

What is God's answer to this question? ( for no man can answer the question of his own salvation).

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31).

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? What does this mean?

First, to believe on Jesus you must repent of your sins. There are three practical elements in "repenting"
of your sins.

1. To say "I am a sinner" meaning that you must recognize all of your sins of the past - sins
committed knowingly and unknowingly, sins in thoughts and deeds, every and all sins.

2. To confess these sins before God.

3. To ask for forgiveness of sins in Jesus name, not by your own determination of willful resolution
not to commit them again.

Second, to welcome, (or receive or accept) Jesus into your heart as your Saviour. Not by the help of
your parents or friends, your teachers, or business partners - but by yourself you must open your own
heart. Because this is a VERY PERSONAL matter. This is a PERSONAL decision. This must be a PERSONAL
action.

But one thing must be made clear, Jesus does not force His way to your heart. You mist first be willing to
accept Him. Otherwise, He may be the personal saviour of your mother, father, brother or sister, but not
your own!

This does not mean that Jesus does want to save all men. On the contrary, as you have seen He does
want to save everyone. But everyone must want to be saved if they are to be saved.

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock", says Jesus Himself, "if any man hear my voice and open the
door I will come unto him." ( Rev. 3:20)

Accepting Jesus as your Saviour is the most important and the glorious decision in your life which will
make a turning point. From now on you are a son of God, not a condemned sinner. You are now
qualified to enjoy the fullest relationship with God, which is the foundation of happiness.
Third, what comes to a man, who has repented his sins and welcomed Jesus Christ as his personal
Saviour? The result is so glorious, so overwhelming that no human expressions can properly explain. So
let us read them in the Bible.

John 1:12, Luke 23:43, Eph 1:7, Rev 2:7&10, 1John 2:25

The "Eternal Life through our Lord Jesus Christ" is a gift to you from God in His infinite love. Receive and
welcome Him today with a heart repented and humbled, willing and trusting.

Then and the only you are "Born Again" into the kingdom of God.
