Rachel Royston Permanent Scholarship
~ Recipients must be women educators in Washington State.
~ Recipients must be pursuing a study beyond a Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college.
~ Recipients DO NOT need to be Delta Kappa Gamma members.
~ Applications for the academic year will be available beginning July 1.
~ Application deadline is December 1.

~ Recipients must be Delta Kappa members in a Washington state chapter.
~ Recipients must have been a Delta Kappa Gamma member for two years.

International Level
!
➢ Lucile Cornetet Award for Professional Development (http://www.dkgef.org click on
Professional Development to find application form)
The Lucile Cornetet INDIVIDUAL Award for Professional Development is an award granted to
educators to participate in professional seminars, workshops, lecture series, national board
certification or recertification, on-line courses, and other non-degree program opportunities that
relate specifically to an applicant’s professional aspirations and/or current educational assignment.
The Lucile Cornetet Individual Professional Development Award funds participation in professional
development activities sponsored by organizations or institutions other than The Delta Kappa
Gamma Society International. This includes presentations/attendance at conferences that will
contribute significantly to the educator’s own professional development. Applications will only be
considered if submitted electronically on or before the dates of February 1, May 1, and September
1 of each calendar year. Decisions on funding occur approximately a month after each deadline,
and activities must occur after funds are awarded. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance
will be made approximately one month following each deadline.

You are already qualified if you’ve been a Society member for at least three years when you apply.
It’s that simple. Golden Gift Fund Committee deadlines and other information are available on the
website: www.dkg.org . The Society is looking for those with leadership potential. Experience
commensurate with length of Society membership will be considered. The next application
deadline is December 1.

All projects must be consistent with and show a clear connection to The Educational Foundation
Mission Statement and The Foundation Purposes. Examples of funded projects may be found at
dkgef.org. (PROJECT AWARDS ARE NOT GRANTED FOR SALARIES OR OVERHEAD COSTS.)
The Mission Statement: The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation supports and encourages
intercultural understanding and educational excellence.
The Purposes are to: 1) support and encourage intercultural understanding 2) encourage standards
of excellence in education, and/or 3) assist and cooperate with schools, colleges, universities and
other persons, with organizations, trust funds, or foundations in support, encouragement, and
improvement of education.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International offers scholarships annually to members of the
Society to enhance the fulfillment of Purpose #5. Awards are made for the academic work during
the period beginning July 1 through June 30. Scholarships will not be awarded for work completed
or degrees received prior to July 1. Applications must be electronically dated no later than
February 1.

State Level
!➢ Rachel Royston Permanent Scholarship www.dkgwa.org (click on Forms)
This scholarship is open to women educators who are bona fide residents of Washington State, working on
post baccalaureate studies in the field of education at a nationally or regionally accredited college or
university. Finalists will be asked to interview with the five-member Rachel Royston Permanent Scholarship
Foundation Board. Interviews will take place in February, in the Seattle area. Successful finalists will show
evidence of scholarship, professional service, potential for future service in education and promise of
distinction. Awards will be announced in Spring, for study from July 1 through June 30. Membership in The
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is not a requirement
!➢ Washington State Organization of DKG Scholarship www.dkgwa.org (click on Forms)
This scholarship is open to a Delta Kappa Gamma members in a Washington chapter who have been a Delta
Kappa Gamma member for two years. Recipients must be working toward an advanced degree or specialized
study above a B.A. Applications must be sent in no later than February 1.
!➢ Washington State Organization of DKG Stipend www.dkgwa.org (click on Forms)
This is a stipend for specialized study, workshops, Road Scholar, etc. It is the goal of this stipend to assist
fellow DKG sisters to enhance their professional and personal development. Applications must be sent in no
later than February 1. Funds are available for reimbursement as well as future events.
