DEEPER LIFE CAMPUS FELLOWSHIP OSASOGIE

BENIN CITY

HANDOVER NOTE

PREPARED BY:

NWAOKOLO C. VICTOR

(OUTGOING PRAYER COORDINATOR FOR 2018/2019 ACADEMIC SESSION)

SUNDAY 7TH JULY, 2019

INTRODUCTION
Glory to God in the highest for His love, grace and mercies unspeakable!
It’s quite almost unbelievable to the eyes that a year has rolled away
already. Looking and casting one’s mind back, it looked like yesterday!
All the same we give God thanks for all He has done. Indeed the Lord
has been gracious ever since the day of our appointment till this day one
is handing over the baton for the continuance and furtherance of God’s
work!
I was appointed as the prayer coordinator of the Deeper life campus
fellowship Osasogie on May, 6th 2018. The handover ceremony was also
on the said date. This appointment lasted till JULY, 7TH 2019.
During this time frame, all kinds of prayer activities were carried out
with attendant results evidently seen in the lives of those who placed a
premium on their prayer life with the LORD!
It is also worthy of note to submit here that the position of a prayer
coordinator came with a whole lot of challenges. Some we were able to
overcome, others we grappled with, but in all I acknowledge God’s
mercies that brought us thus far.

GOALS AND PLANS AS A PRAYER COORDINATOR.

My goal has a prayer coordinator was to raise up a praying church. A
church of people who placed a price tag on their prayer lives. They are
supposed to be a people who understood the power of prayer at their
disposal and are able to wield this power! These goals were meant to be
actualized by specific and strategic plans. Some of these plans include:
 A weekly prayer meeting that lasted for at least two hours.
 A series of teaching and seminars that furnishes God’s people a
proper understanding that will enhance their prayer walk.
 A monthly vigil targeted at attending to the needs of the people
spiritually and ultimately sparking the fire of revival.
These goals and plans suffered a major setback due to unapproved plans
of the executives. Nonetheless some of these goals and plans were
‘unofficially’ actualized with attendant results by God’s grace coupled
with the synergistic efforts of the whole executives.

PRAYER ACTIVITIES FOR THE SESSION

 A consistent Wednesday prayer meeting.
 Pre- services prayers.
 Night of solution vigil.
 Some ‘unofficial’ prayer meetings.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCCESSES

1. We witnessed a large boost in the number of individuals who
responded to the prayer meetings this time around.
2. People’s prayer life’s were greatly affected and heightened. Some
with no prayer life, or desire for it received God’s touch.
3. The church became keener to prayers.
4. Testimonies of God’s supernatural supplies, deliverances,
breaking of bad habits, etc., abound. In fact I myself was delivered
from an accident that may have claimed my life last year
December.
5. Also with the night of solution vigil we had this semester, we had
many testimonies that were properly documented.
6. Worth of note also is how God averted the several attempts the
devil made to claim the life’s of students. Our students were kept.
We lost none!

CHALLENGES
Uneasy they say is the head that wears the crown. Truth be told no
venture is immune to challenges, hurdles and problems. During my
tenure as a prayer coordinator, I had mine own share of challenges. They
include:
 Inexperience- being my first time in a leadership position as this, I
was quite naïve. This affected my work most especially in the first
semester.
 Non – implementation of our plans as executives.
 The long six months strike embarked by ASUU also posed a
hindrance to the work.
 The lack of synergy that existed between the student leadership
and our associate coordinators and campus pastor.
 Multiplicities of activities in the campus church.
 Lack of workers solely dedicated to the prayer cell. This ultimately
hindered the formation of a viable prayer team. This has been a
serious issue as far as I can remember. For four years as a member,
worker, and leader in DLCF osasogie, we never had a viable
prayer team. All attempts to form one proved abortive.
 The challenge of balancing school life with church responsibilities
also abound.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Acquire adequate knowledge on what it takes to man the office of

prayer coordinator.
2. Seek counsel on how to lead efficiently and function optimally.
3. Seek to establish a prayer team.
4. Walk and work with your GC.
5. Seek the approval and guidance of your campus pastor.
6. Bridge any gap with your campus pastor and work as one.
7. Never allow your personal prayer alter to die.
8. Know your members under you. Be friendly- this will help you
know their challenges and know how to help them.
9. More time should be allocated to prayer meetings.
10. A compulsory vigil should hold every month for the student
fellowship.

MY CHARGE TO THE NEW PRAYER COORDINATOR.

The success of the Christian life and any service to God in the kingdom
is directly traceable to a life of prayer. In the words of his blessed
memory, Dr. Myles Munroe, he said that ‘prayer is an earthly license
for a Heavenly intervention’. John Wesley has rightly also said ‘that it
seems as if God will not do anything on earth, except a man ask to
do so in prayers’. The Apostles of our Lord Jesus also told us that they
will give themselves to prayers and the ministry of the word. All
these are statements that emphasize the indispensability of prayers in the
kingdom and church work.

You’ve been called to occupy a very delicate position in the fellowship

of God’s people, and the success of the church largely depends on your
faithful labors in secret prayers. No church can advance beyond the
level of its prayer engagements. The lord has brought you into the
kingdom for such a time like this, to do the works of the Lord, be strong
and do it!

Know for sure that the gates of hell will contend against you in all
shades and form, but the grace of God is very much available for you.
Be strong in that grace and the lord will make you a complete success.

God bless you brother and congratulations!
