CHALLENGES
Uneasy they say is the head that wears the crown. Truth be told no
venture is immune to challenges, hurdles and problems. During my
tenure as a prayer coordinator, I had mine own share of challenges. They
include:
Inexperience- being my first time in a leadership position as this, I
was quite naïve. This affected my work most especially in the first
semester.
Non – implementation of our plans as executives.
The long six months strike embarked by ASUU also posed a
hindrance to the work.
The lack of synergy that existed between the student leadership
and our associate coordinators and campus pastor.
Multiplicities of activities in the campus church.
Lack of workers solely dedicated to the prayer cell. This ultimately
hindered the formation of a viable prayer team. This has been a
serious issue as far as I can remember. For four years as a member,
worker, and leader in DLCF osasogie, we never had a viable
prayer team. All attempts to form one proved abortive.
The challenge of balancing school life with church responsibilities
also abound.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The success of the Christian life and any service to God in the kingdom
is directly traceable to a life of prayer. In the words of his blessed
memory, Dr. Myles Munroe, he said that ‘prayer is an earthly license
for a Heavenly intervention’. John Wesley has rightly also said ‘that it
seems as if God will not do anything on earth, except a man ask to
do so in prayers’. The Apostles of our Lord Jesus also told us that they
will give themselves to prayers and the ministry of the word. All
these are statements that emphasize the indispensability of prayers in the
kingdom and church work.
Know for sure that the gates of hell will contend against you in all
shades and form, but the grace of God is very much available for you.
Be strong in that grace and the lord will make you a complete success.
