ACTIVITY
The 2016 Annual 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women
Description and Children with the THEME: “VAWC Free Community Starts With Me”
is conducted from November 25-December 12, 2016.
This campaign aims to give emphasis on how far the government
agencies and other stakeholders have gone in terms of programs and
projects that address violence against women and children.

In response to the call of the Philippine Commission on Women


Objectives (PCW) and the Department of Education to support the annual
celebration to end violence against women and children, Baybay National
High School thru its School GAD Coordinator plan out for some suggested
activities.
1. Participate in the kick-off activity announcing the campaign to
end violence against women.
2. Conduct school level contest in essay writing, slogan making,
and poster making contest in all Grade level.
3. Conduct symposium to disseminate information to stakeholders
on various for forms of VAW in communities and how to
minimize, if not totally eliminate them.
HIGHLIGHTS

 A streamer announcing the campaign was hanged in the


entrance gate of the school as part of the kick-off activity
supporting the campaign.
 Teaching staff of Baybay NHS, specifically the AP/EsP
Department initiated the said activity.
 Contest were conducted to students like the Slogan Making
Contest – Grade 7 & 8, Poster Making Contest – Grade 9, and
Essay Writing Contest – Grade 10.
 A symposium was conducted in Brgy. Pomponan, Baybay City,
to some 4P’s parents to disseminate information on how to
minimize violence against women if not totally eliminate them.
 Culmination activity was conducted to end the celebration.

RESULTS
1. All objectives were met.
2. The teachers unhesitatingly took part to the activity.
3. Different aspects of the activity was conformed with enthusiasm,
rendering the activity a success.
Achievement 4. Students are especially keen in sharing their thoughts and talents
in the essay writing, poster and slogan making contests.
of Objectives 5. Speakers deliver their respective topics related to violence against
women and children.
6. Open forum followed to address the questiond of the participants.
7. Brgy. Chairwoman Veneranda P. Martinez personally thanks the
Baybay NHS teaching staff in conducting the symposium on her
barangay, wherein the participants gain information on the said
activity.

Feedback 3. Eventhough there was a power blackout in conducting the
symposium, still the AP/EsP department thru our energetic
department head Sir Dindo Lopez find ways that the activity will
be push through.
4. Participants clearly understand every topics being discussed,
however there are some issues concerning legal basis needs to be
clearly expalined by a lawyer to avoid misunderstanding of the law
related to VAWC.
