The purpose of this Envirocare Update is to make the reader aware of the new changes to the
KS1000 RW insulated roof panel hip detail.

Revisions made.
The location of the stitcher screw used to fix the hip flashing to the panel crowns has been
moved down slope from the line of the profiled filler. It is now located 30mm from the edge of
the hip flashing.

Reason for revisions

The new stitcher screw location at the panel crown will prevent the flashing lifting under high
wind suction loadings, thus preventing damage to the flashing and panel.

This is due to the reduced length of flashing beyond the stitcher screw location. It will also
improve the aesthetic appearance of the hip flashing as there will be less distortion of the
flashing along its length.

Construction detail
With the new stitcher screw location being down slope of the profiled filler, the hole cut in the top
sheet of the panel via the stitcher screw will need protecting via a PVC foam tape. The tape is
applied to the panel crown at the stitcher screw location. (Previously the hole would have been
protected via the profiled filler).

Where the distance between the stitcher screws is greater than 450mm, a zed support will need
to be installed as per Envirocare Update 43 to provide an additional fixing point for the hip
flashing mid span between the panel crowns.

The zed support is located at the filler position (80-100mm up slope), this will give a staggered
appearance to the stitcher screw line along the hip flashing.
