SLE PROPOSAL FORM

Directions: Please review the questions below. These questions are meant to help you focus-in on
exactly WHAT you will do with your 15 hours. It is your choice whether you fill out the steps first or
answer the questions first. Just make sure this is completed.

Because this is a plan that is subject-to-change, you are estimating the amount of time activities
may take and you are estimating the date as well. have a total of 15 hours planned out.

1. Provide the original title of your junior paper.

Families Separated at the Border

2. What was your topic about? What was your position (belief) about the topic. Give pertinent
details. Explain #2 in a paragraph or less. If you have changed your topic, explain it here.

My topic was about families separated at the border, and my belief was they shouldn't be
separated. The reason why families should not be separated at the border for the reason
that it can psychologically damage to the children, their parents and cost to much money
separating them.

3. Describe the type of project you plan to complete in complete sentences. Will you teach?
Make a video to share with others? Volunteer
For my project I would like to do make website/blog or a social media account that gives
awareness of what's going on, in order for them to help in what they can. I was thinking of
also volunteering translating in order to help them in their language difference. Commented [1]: This can make a huge impact!

4. Explain the overall goal of your efforts by answering these questions:


a. Describe the community/ies you will focus on.

I would focus on the hispanic community for translating, and when i do my awareness I
would like to all communities from everywhere to be able to understand.
b. Where will you go to find these people?

To be able to find these people i would go on the internet, and around me.
c. Explain HOW the community will benefit from your SLE.
The community will benefit by raising awareness, and learning more about what's going
on, and while helping translating the people i'm going to help they can get things done.
d. At the end of your hours, how will YOU know you helped this community? How will
you measure this?

In order for me to know if I helped this community, is by the visits it would have, and how

**A mentor is optional, but it does get you extra points on your final project grade. You must provide
evidence of working with a mentor throughout your project, if you choose to have one.

6. What materials or supplies will you need? Note: you are not expected to spend money on this
project.
I would need a social media account or website. I would also need a phone in order to take
a picture, a paper in order to sign, so i can have evidence I helped.

7. Name at least one adult who would be able to evaluate you on your project using the form in your
packet.. This can be a mentor or simply someone who observed you at some point.

8. Make a list of all of the steps you will need to take in order to complete your project. Estimate the
amount of time each step will take. (As you finish them, you will record them on your log.
