Evidence: The time is now

This evidence is divided into two parts: A composition and an audio file. Read
the instructions below and make sure you complete both tasks.

A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar
and vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I

thought it was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at
school and that was frustrating.
 I didnt study English before because, first of all, my English teacher in school only
taught basic things and when she tried to explain other things, things got confused, I
also thought that my English level was fine but when I started university some my
classes were in English and it was difficult to understand very well and in the
semesters I study, I have many projects and evaluations, so I do not have time for
English classes, so in my vacations I decided to take virtual classes to improve my
level. This vacation I was looking for work in another country and they told me that I
needed the ielts exam, so now I am preparing my exam, the last reason is that I
understand that learning another language is very important to study, work and also
travel around the world, and English is the universal language, so I have to learn it.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name
and explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

If i had learned english back time i would have had higher grades in the classes i had
in english in the collage. If my grades were higher also my average and my
probabilities to have a scolarship.

If i had learned english earlier i would have traveled to other country to work. If i
want to work in another country i need a better level of english.

If i had learned english before, i would have done the ielts exam years ago. If i want
to travel and work i need the certification of this exam.

If i had learned english before, i would have learned another lenguaje. I would have
spoken three languajes by now.

If i had learned english some years ago, I would have expressed myself better and
with a better vocabulary when I travel abroad

B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the
examples as models of the grammar and vocabulary you have to use.
 1. Why are you studying English? (List and explain at least 4 reasons.)

Example:

I’m studying English because I finally decided that if I want to improve my

professional profile becoming bilingual is essential.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

Example:

Being competent in English is going to increase the opportunities of landing a

more satisfying and better-paid job. We live in an international open market and
English is the most important language.
