DISCUSSIONS:

Our goal in this module is to illustrate polynomial functions in

different ways. It can be denoted by P(x), f(x), g(x), y, and the like.

It can also be expressed in different ways like the terms can be

written in any order, or in factored form. However, if written in the
decreasing powers of x, it is in its standard form.

A polynomial is the sum of one or more monomials with real

coefficients and nonnegative integer exponents. The degree of the
polynomial function is the highest value for n whwre an is not equal to 0.

A polynomial function is a function of the form

P(x) = anxn + an-1xn-1 + an-2xn-2 + … + a1x + a0, an ≠ 0,

where n is a nonnegative integer, a0, a1, …, an are real numbers called

coefficients, anxn is the leading term, an is the leading coefficient, and a0
is the constant term.
