Daily Lesson Log

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of Newton’s Laws of Motion
B. Performance Standard
 explain each of Newton’s three laws of motion
(S11/12PS-IVd-5)
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives.
 Create a balloon powered plastic bottle car;
Write the LC code for each.
 Use Newton’s laws of motion to demonstrate how to make
the balloon powered plastic car travel the farthest.
II. CONTENT
Why we believe that the laws of physics are universal

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages -
2. Learner’s Material pages -
3. Textbook pages -
4. Additional Material from Learning
Resource (LR) Portal
B. Other Learning Resources Laptop, projector, screen, inflated balloons, 6L plastic bottle, adhesive
tapes, other recycled materials
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Present a video clip on rocket propulsion. Describe how a rocket is propelled.
presenting the new lesson. Recall Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Emphasize that the period will be spent creating and testing the balloon
powered plastic bottle car.
C. Presenting Examples/ instances of the
new lesson
D. Discussing new concepts and Design a balloon powered car out of recycled materials – 6L plastic bottle,
practicing new skills #1 3 inflated balloons; adhesive tapes, bottle caps, used CDs, wooden sticks.

E. Discussing new concepts and Out of the recycled available materials, create a balloon powered plastic
practicing new skills #2 bottle car that can travel the farthest and the fastest.
F. Developing mastery Present the balloon powered plastic car output.
(Leads to Formative Assessment 3) Test the created balloon powered plastic bottle car in terms of the farthest
distance it can travel and the fastest designed car.

G. Finding practical applications of Cite applications of the Newton’s laws of motion.

concepts and skills in daily living
H. Making generalizations and Facilitate the generalization to differentiate the three laws of motion
abstractions about the lesson
The presentation and testing of the created balloon powered plastic bottle
I. Evaluating learning car will be assessed based on their knowledge on Newton’s laws of motion
and the distance travelled by the car.
J. Additional activities for application or
remediation
V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% on
the formative assessment
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation.
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up with the
lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these work? The use of the guided inquiry approach allowed the students to design a
balloon powered plastic bottle car worked well. In this activity, the
students think critically on how to make their plastic bottle car travel the
farthest. They were able to redesign their model and work collaboratively.
They really enjoyed the activity.
F. What difficulties did I encounter which
my principal or supervisor can help me
solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials The use of recyclable 6L plastic bottle, used CDs and sticks which are
did I use/discover which I wish to share available anywhere can be utilized to demonstrate Newton’s Law of
with other teachers? Interaction.
