My essay will attempt to answer how the different types of pollution are affecting plants

and animals over time. I would like to know which type of pollution affects plants and animals

the most. I as well would like to know if the pollution rates are getting worse over time. If so,

how will that continue to affect animals? How will it continue to affect plants?

Hassan, Sidra, and Ihsan Ul Haq. “Pervasive Pollution Problems Caused by Plastics and Its

Degradation.” International Journal of Online and Biomedical Engineering (IJOE), vol.

15, no. 10, 2019, p. 29., doi:10.3991/ijoe.v15i10.10873.

Ijoe is an international Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Supports

which helps research reach the scientific community. This academic journal discuses information

on how the vast amount of plastics on this earth is beginning to get out of hand. This article

explores the background information on plastic, and how plastic itself is a key piece to land

pollution.

This academic journal is targeting a more mature audience in particular by showing

examples and giving information on how plastics are beginning to affect our earth more and

more. This journal is meant to persuade the audience to want to try and help slow down the rates

of pollution. As well was is it trying to show how unhealthy plastics are for our environment.

This academic journal was from the International Journal of Online and Biomedical

Engineering vol. 15, no. 10, 2019, and was published on EBSCOhost. The author of this journal
is Sidra Hassan. The information on this article was written recently which concludes that it will

include up to date information.

I plan to implement the information from this journal into my paper by using the

background information of the plastic to show how hard it is for plastic to break down on its

own. Then to relate that information of since the plastic takes vast amounts of time to decompose

it keeps building up over time which affects the plants and animals more.

Mims , Alisha, director. Beyond Pollution | Environmental Documentary | Reel Truth

Science, Swibble Films , 29 Mar. 2019, www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ree4DCE8_L4.

This documentary from Reel Truth Science Documentaries, which is a YouTube channel

of documentaries from the scientific and medical world. This documentary discuses examples of

locations before and after a pollution epidemic hit. It helps the audience help comprehend more

how serious pollution is. The main purpose of this documentary is to help open people’s eyes on

this subject and to show what we are continuing to do to this earth.

The audience to this documentary is most likely a political audience because of the

political examples included within it. The point of this was to show that pollution is caused by

humans not caring about our earth.

This article was submitted on YouTube of the Reel Truth Science Documentaries page.

The director of this documentary was Alisha Mims. She is a writer, director, and producer. The

documentary was published on March 29, 2019. This concludes that the information within this

article is as well up to date and recent.

I plan to implement this information from the documentary into my paper

by including some of these examples of when human's pollution our earth and then relate it to

how these examples have affected different plants and animals.

Chron.com, Chron.com, 26 Oct. 2016, smallbusiness.chron.com/effects-pollutants-plant-

structure-17119.html.

This online article is published from the Houston Chronicle which is one of the largest

newspapers in the United States and was founded in 1901. This online newspaper includes in-

depth information on national news. This article includes information on how different types of

pollution can affect and stunt plant growth significantly.

This article was written by Chris Dinesen Rogers who is a writer that specifies

in science related topics. She also is an author and has published many books. The information

on this article was published on October 26, 2016. Even though this information is not as recent

as my previous sources, the information included within this article will still be beneficial to use

in my paper.

I plan to implement this information on this article into my paper by explaining how the

different types of pollution affects plant structure and growth in different ways. I will include

specific details from the article to use as evidence for my claims.

Tabuchi, Hiroko. “Despite Their Promises, Giant Energy Companies Burn Away Vast Amounts

of Natural Gas.” The New York Times, The New York Times, 16 Oct.

2019, www.nytimes.com/2019/10/16/climate/natural-gas-flaring-exxon-bp.html.

This source was published on The New York Times, which is known for credible authors

and articles. The New York Times contains many articles with up to date, detailed information.

This article in particular includes information on natural gas, and how most of this natural gas is

produced. The article uses details and specific evidence to help support how the natural gas leads

to air pollution and climate change.

This article was written by Hiroko Tabuchi who is a climate reporter for The New York

Times. Prior to becoming a part of the New York Times, Tabuchi was a reporter for the Tokyo

bureau of The Associated Press for three years. This information on this article was published on

October 16th, 2019, this concludes that the data on this online Newpapers is very recent and up

to date.

I plan to implement the information on this article into my paper by using the evidence

about the natural gas as background information to help explain air pollution. I will incorporate

the different statistics about natural gas to help the audience better understand more about my

topic.

published on EBSCOhost which is from the Sinclair Library Database.

This online book discusses more of the marine aspect of pollution. Throughout the book,

Judith Weis explains things such as emerging concerns, climate change, and biological pollution.

She goes into detail with each one of these topics and gives examples of each type of

these categories.

I plan to implement this information included in this book by using specific details and

key terms to help readers better understand water pollution. This information in this online book
was published in 2015, although the facts and information in this book will still help me

significantly with my paper.
