The expected week end was approaching fast and due to frosty weather our temporary accommodation

in Hounslow, London was bit gloomy. My other colleagues were busy packing up their gear for the
anticipated night-duty on a very cold day. Others on “off-duty” and those who had to drive back to their
families decided to be good drinkers within legal limits. This obviously may allow them to keep their
driving permits from cancelled or paying heavy fines. But, as usual with all drinking secessions, someone
opened up the much dreaded topic of the day. All started in unison to discuss about the UK economy
recession & the looming job cuts, obviously, we weren’t obsessed with it.

Suddenly, someone had a phone call from mother Lanka. This news, obviously originated from top
defense man, raised his eye browses. As he was so uptight we also lend our ears to it. Then he shouted
“Yako, President is coming to UK”. The most common response from all of us was “Wow!!! For what?”

President visiting UK and for what?

The answer to this question is not at a simple one. It goes a long way and involves the concerns of
almost every citizen of Sri Lanka & the Diaspora. His visit may touch the very strategical politico military
strategies (codes) in Sri Lanka. Let’s begin this from as far back as from year 2007.

Sri Lankan Army during the last two decades had several military setbacks in their long and hazardous
bloody struggle against LTTE. The contemporary history of our was marred by billions rupees worth of
military hardware losses to LTTE and leaving hundreds of dead bodies of its own soldiers in the LTTE
held areas. From the LTTE side, they had similar setbacks, mostly loss of its senior leaders, deteriorating
support of (Tamil) public, weakened international support and may be, the shift of leaders towards
“greed from grievance”. However, they possessed an unimaginably deadly arsenal of military hardware
and about 25,000 fully committed and trained carders ready to die for the cause at command.

Misled Army Commanders led the Army

Army, the biggest contributor to the LTTE war efforts (from Government side) carried several
misconceptions which all previous Army commanders firmly embraced. I.e. The Army is not capable of
carrying out simultaneous offensive operations in more than one place for a continuous period. It simply
diluted to believe that they could not handle the logistics. Accordingly, all offensives were carried out just
in once place giving LTTE the full liberty of mustering all fighting carders to one “single” defense and
attack the Army. As a result of this outdated theory, few army infantry battalions faced the full force of
the ferocious LTTE attacks head on.

Secret offensive into Vanni

In 2007, behind the imposed media curfew, the Army commenced an offensive, designated to a fight in
one place. It used the just hurriedly assembled Five Seven (57) Division. Many boasting about their high-
handed involvements in the victory may not be even aware of that place. Everyone from senior officer to
the NCOs’ thought, it was doomed to fail, due to above “fight in one place” syndrome. The front-line
commanders were, after inching into LTTE held territory, was waiting for the “all out” counter offensive
by the LTTE would begin. As it had always been in the history of our fighting, LTTE would cut-off the
long logistical line in one place, isolate the “frontage”, sweep from behind and sandwich the entire
battalion to taters.

Suddenly, something very drastic happened.

This sudden move made even Army war veterans taken by surprise. Remaining Army infantrymen were
ordered to mount another Div (58) and commence an assault-line along Western Coast parallel to 57
assault-line. Even more surprised were the LTTE leaders. They never faced a two frontages fighting at
once. When these lines were inching towards Vanni, LTTE thought of a diversionary tactic, collected as
many fighting carders along A9 road north of Vauniya Omanthe. In response, another Div was mounted,
opened up a fresh assault-line killing about 100 LTTE carders in the initial thrust. Then another Div (59)
along Eastern coast Northwards from Weli Oya hot-bed began its work. Yet, matters in Northern theater
held onto from normal abnormality, each time 53 & 55 Divisions tried to break into the ever strong
defense into Vanni, LTTE pounded every inch of Army columns with 130mm heavy artillery conveniently
located in Poonaryn. Army knew the position of gun turrets very well but could never approach Poonaryn
across Kilali lagoon. But, when LTTE felt that their precious gun positions coming within 58 Div artillery
range from behind, they reluctantly removed them. That was the opportunity for 53 & 55 Divisions to
march southwards from Muhamalei and Nagar Kovil, and they did it in style.

Who ordered multiple thrusts into Vanni – LTTE stronghold?

So, whose (smart) idea could it be to mount parallel assaults risking the entire carrier of this veteran
soldier? It is not H.E the President he had no clue, because he is a carrier politician. (We had politicians
with military insights but not deep enough to advice on top level military strategies). Until the Army
proved it, the President never knew SL could have a complete military victory over LTTE. Was it JHU? No.
they had no such high command over military, than fighting for positions. Was it Indian advisers, no they
had failed miserably with LTTE. Indian Key defense analysts expressed utter surprise of this surprised
development by the Army Commander. Not the Sri Lankan Navy, STF or Air Force suggested the Army to
wage multiple thrusts. We had no foreign advisors on those lines. Liberation of East had certain lessons,
but that was not a multiple assault, further, sarcastically though, they have fired more MBRL rounds
(Cost Rs. 150,000 per round) than the number of LTTE carders killed!

One can argue that it’s the Secretary of Defense.

Government will assist me with healthy financial kick-backs and my long overdue Diplomatic posting if I
write so. But, I cannot sell myself for that and tell lies. Secretary of Defense, Mr.Gotabhaya Rajapakse
was assisted by Catholic Church to leave the country and find some living in USA decades ago, after he
joined the Ranjan Wijerathna’s secret “mas kade = meat shop” to annihilate the JVP in 1986/1989. It was
the Church or maybe it is not, he was not a man of military thinking, he was not a graduate in any
discipline, but was working as a 7/11 salesmen and later as a computer operator in US when the most

challenging pages of the Army and the Sri Lankan history were written. From US, he never even
contributed a single article for war. Forget writing, he cannot even read a long article, cannot at all
comprehend complex issues. Not more than one A4 page. He was not even heard by anyone until his
brother was voted as the President of Sri Lanka.

Upon assuming the position of Secretary of Defense, did he turn the Defense Ministry to a versatile &
functioning war Dept? Oh, no, he’s such a weak administrator and he never how to run it. The only
canteen MOD had cultivated more flies (laying eggs over poor staff officers’ food) than may be, entire
population of Vanni. If you happened to call its huge battery of numbers of telephones at the height of
the war after 4pm on a working day, there was none to answer the call or to take a message. Not to
mention about weekends. He miserably failed to initiate any propaganda, he barked at reporters with lot
of hand signals. If not for his “big brother”, he wouldn’t have been even a Div Commander in the Army.
But, one cannot disregard his contribution towards the victory by buying Arms and ammunition to make
billions of dollars of commission for the family, when the things were moving in the right direction; he
joined the stream and went with it with full “vested” authority. Unfortunately though, as with any other
senior figure in SL, he is notoriously thick headed, may be more than others. This promptly developed to
a fully fledged professional jealousy with the Army Commander. The latter too was a very
uncompromising character. No one thought that these small attitudes would lead to a dire national
disaster which is going to destroy our beautiful motherland.

Commander became the batman of Royal Cadet

SF also had lot of enemies. One was the commander of the Navy, Wasantha Karannagoda. SF confronted
Wasantha at the Security Council meetings to prove that latter was a first class liar. He made
commissions from purchasing arms for the Navy. One incident where he tried his best to get the approval
of the Procurement Approval Committee for an order to purchase 32 mm Cannon for the Dowra gun
ships from UK. When it was refused and the Israel order was approved, he pushed this through Yoshitha,
President’s son, and got the approval for this order which was Sterling Pounds 20 million over and above
the Israel order.

In the fight for supremacy against his sworn rival, he (Wasantha) selected the opposite, much easier
path. He became the pet of not the President but President’s son & family. When other cadets were not
even allowed to see the Commander, he stood in full uniform & in attention at the door of the special
cadet Yoshitha before morning wakeup at Trincomalee Naval Academy, an act not even done by a
batman, let alone the Commander. Making mockery of officering rules, he offered the prestigious sword
to the cadet to receive his father President (the sword is only touchable at the final passing-out ceremony
and after becoming a commissioned officer and never before). He brought lots of sarees to the first lady
from an official visit to India and said to have volunteered to help her wear one! When the “Royal” cadet
wanted a much publicized glimpse of the final war in the sea, he ordered all gun boats and battle ships to
surround “prince” gun boat; all the rest of the Navy had no boats even to carry critical casualties on that
day. When the Prince went on a private tour to Anuradhapura Naval Facility with civilian friends, he called
in each 10 minutes to ask “did you eat, did you drink enough water etc” and Prince said to have
responded “what a nuisance, even my father does not call me this often”.

These shameful acts paid lot of dividends. Whilst SF became the bad boy, Wasantha K became the
trusted bellboy. However, GR wanted someone from within the Army. Willing to do anything for him (not
for the country). And there were two, not only one. Both Retired Major Generals and were not from the
core competence (I.e. infantry) of the Army. But they had certain things in common. Severe professional
jealousy with SF and severe greed for money. One was Kapila Hendawitharane and other one was Palitha
Fernando. Within informed circles, former is now commonly called as the “Hari Babu” of the ruling family.
The situation created by Kapila Hendawitharane, or the “Hari Babu” by directing the pompous defense
secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse on a goose chase will have very serious consequences for the country and
is will destroy present President & his future (baby President). Action of these people are very serious,
but they are not known to many people in Sri Lanka or the so called Sinhala patriots supporting all these
evil acts while living in very comfortable Western surroundings. .

in action are living just below poverty line, this
single person who never heard a crack of a bullet is
now having Rupee (equivalent) 2,900,000,000/= in
his account! Started with US$1m bribe from KP,
Cool!

He’s still poor compared to the Secretary of Defense and poorer to

Basil Rajapakse.

Now lets’ turn to mighty LTTE financier KP. Factors behind his “easy” apprehension or surrender are not
within the scope of this note but, where the hell are enormous stock of money he handled in his capacity
as the leader of the procurement department (& unknown to many, legal & illegal business ventures) of
LTTE & Tamil Diaspora? An extremely shrewd person who was in command of several ships (17 in all),
almost most profitable business lines in the globe such as drug trafficking, wholesale arm deals, human
smuggling, credit card frauds, currency & gold deals, real estate and even fuel pumps and bank accounts

has no Penny in his accounts after capture? No way. Ask from Kapila H, he knows, as he got US $ 1
(ONE) million for facilitating this surrender. He deposited trillions of KP’s money in several banks &
business ventures in Singapore in Gotabhaya’s private company names, it’s said that Gota is capable of
fluctuating Singapore currency at will!! The secret behind Gota getting sudden heart attacks and flying to
Singapore is to re-invest this money. Hell with opposition leader, JHU, TNA & JVP for not questioning this
adequately! Reason for selecting Singapore is KP’s advice (very serious, far reaching consequences!) and
fear of freezing and eventual confiscating in West and US as new bank accounts are characteristically
similar to LTTE itself having it! When poor soldiers are given pet cage size houses from generous
collections of the general public, (still played out by Gota and his friends) ultimate war income is now in
the hands of one, oh no, two, three people. Kapila too had a generous share of the LTTE money, Gota
knows he would not work otherwise, why not Palitha, he too has a share now. But, this share is not
sufficient to meet billion $ obligations. Coupled with born incapacity to steer the top of the Army (present
Army commander was hand-picked just for this requirements but when he started seeking consultations
from his own wife than from secretary of defense, he became unpopular) and the financial obligation,
Ghota allowed Kapila & Palitha to decide. And they did. Now the present Army Commander is a dead
duck and maybe he will get his marching order very soon on a serious but very important fabricated
Court Marshal.

Number one & two in the rich list of Sri Lanka

This massive amount of money they hoarded is so big, once, the mighty sole authority of awarding
Government contracts in Sri Lanka and sole authority of negotiating foreign (specially Chinese) loans
packages Mr. Basil Rajapakse has once said, “Malli, you are now becoming more richer than me”. They
both said to have laughed for minutes as they both are the richest number one & two in Sri Lanka.

Kapila Hendawitharane – the genius idiot, present-day Babu a Pinguthraya?

Kapila devised the systematic destruction plan of Sarath Fonseka; Gotabhaya with zero political sense
was overjoyed to hear the expected results in quick succession. Any excesses included in vengeance by
Kapila were just negligible in view of free management of massive LTTE money. Entire world now is
aware of those nonsensical road-shows. Court Marshals & Army General was reduced to a level lower
than drunken street beggar in the eyes of general public, but still the general public call him General Sir!!.
Far reaching legal & social consequences have almost adequately been addressed by several veterans &
institutions and will not be touched in this letter, but, one sentence secretly mentioned in Army middle
level officer ranks would worth mentioning.

“If we have to fight another LTTE or similar terrorist campaign in future, we must first kill the President.
If not, he will jail us after we win the war”. Hope you can understand the seriousness of this statement.
Our Army officers are not bare idiots, they think, they observe. They learn from mistakes created by the
C-in-C.

Other serious consequences

This greed by Gota, Kapila and Palitha seriously and directly hampered the actual rehabilitation
efforts in Vanni, East & Jaffna. They are incapable; they never allow anyone capable and would
not like KP to talk with anyone. Certain wealthy sections of the Tamil Diaspora who are aware of
this financial blunder had vehemently refused to join any rehabilitation. Above 3 are afraid of any
genuine party involvement as it would expose their sins.

Many seriously detainable / punishable LTTE carders such as suicide and intelligence carders
were just sent home believing their cover stories as kitchen helpers, Para-medics etc. by military
intelligence. Capable intelligence officers who worked tirelessly earlier have no willingness now,
no moral to undertake any serious intelligence work to save the country. They remember what
happened to their Commander.

The vast majority of Sinhalese who helped the war effort voluntarily by donating their money,
children, knowledge, time & expertise are now congregating into a borderless common front in
pressuring the MR for release of Sarath Fonseka. Many of those are former MR supporters of the
Presidential election. These people are falling away from the ideology embraced for decades
under most hash times in Sri Lanka.

A direct beneficiary of above trend is the somewhat weakened Tamil Diaspora; new front is
finding slogans which the former had continuously been voicing for last 20 yrs. New front is
presently functioning against the MR & family but their effect is being copied & used by Tamil
Diaspora against Sri Lankan State. If this trend continues, these two former rival fractions would
actually join hands with each other (it’s happening in certain countries), a very serious
consequences for Sri Lanka.

After the defeat of LTTE, those who wanted to re-awaken Tamil separatism in Sri Lanka found
one serious blunder with the former process, LTTE seriously lacked an ideology. It relied only on
military means which became unpopular among Tamil civilians at later stages. They found that
the most appealing ideology in Vanni & North is Marxism which is locally available in abundance
with JVP. In turn, JVP wanted weapons which are still hidden in certain scattered places in those
areas. Now there’s a very systematic transfer of ideology for weapons. In effect, JVP is now
linked with LTTE remaining fractions. The process of Sinhalese killing Sinhalese in mass numbers
is already under-way. This has very serious far reaching consequences, but it’s not being
addressed in appropriate levels because they are busy with further nailing of Sarah Fonseka &
milking LTTE’s bank accounts through KP.

Any military officer wanting to slash-off another has just one easy tool now. Just to say “That one
is secretly supporting Sarath Fonseka”. That becomes the carrier end of the latter. So, no-one
works, no-one wants to get the attention. This is analogous to the situation our forces had to
face during last days of President Premadasa. He & his close ones employed spies from within,
seriously hampering the trust and comrediary within the forces. These divisions have now been
experiencing within civil society too, anyone can complain against the other as a sympathizer of
Sarath Fonseka, the latter is doomed. Very unhealthy situation for the military and civil society.

Trillionior Basil Rajapakse is selling something very cheap to China which is not his. I.e. Mother
Lanka. It’s very unfair to call him 10% because he accepts nothing less than 30% now, (Young
Namal is associated with 10% & Basil has already taken into account the high cost of living!).
China in turn exports lot of projects including laborers giving the false impression that the
country is developing fast. This is called negative economy? (Look at just one figure, steep rise of
our Debt service ratio as a % of GDP). Basil cares nothing as Rajapakse family does not repay
foreign debts. But, this unholy alliance hurts already restraint international relationships. The
West & US are very hurt. Entire country is being dragged into a very painful suffering in the
future and Gota is graciously protecting the brother(s) by installing severe people suppressive
mechanisms.

These factors have also affected the President, he has warned his brothers “Yako, thope hukana veda
walin matai kelawenne”. Now he’s a very worried man. His sole ambition is to reign in power till Prince
Namal takes over. But he knows the massive impeding danger. He knows the effects of losing popularity.
Instead of convincing his own brother(s) to be fair, he’s trying to convince the entire world
to tolerate unfair! In a way, who cares the expenditure, they are not paid from Rajapakse pay-packets.
He thinks his visit can cure all!! High hopes. So he paid foreign firms who are not even heard of. Yet no
results, so his cohorts including Sachin Vass Gunawardena advised him to make personal visits, upon his
sight, many will tumble. So the King agreed. So the King coming.

In UK alone, there are thousands already queuing up to kneel down and express solidarity to the
President when he arrives. UK SLFP Branch has I male & 1 female asses, Oxford University has that
young lad who invited the King, High Commission has about 10 (ass lickers), there alone 2+1+10 = 13
asses! Wow! The number growing fast. Prasad Samarasinghe came, Prsanna Silva there, Karannagoda
coming, so it’s 16 asses! WooooW! Hooooooooooo!

Adding later – sorry man, HE the President is visiting UK on Dec 01. That boy is inviting him. He will wear
“Seethambara pata Saluwa” on that day. UK High Commission hires enough busses but no people to
crowd the empty seats except above asses. Sachin Vazz has taken an intelligence team (greedy incapable
blind leading the blind). Babu has taken in Rohan Gunaratne into intelligence wing. Can whitewash his
sins, but RG also a greedy ass. Later was used to find LTTE’s int’l bank accounts, so they are now friends!
Cru Sri Lanka!

Lanka-e-News, Oct.20, 2010, 11.30PM) A contract has been given to three Companies in foreign
countries to refurbish the deplorably tarnished image of the Govt. internationally. The sum spent for this
is Rs. 10.2 million per month.

Kervis Co. of America is being paid a sum of US $ 30,000/-. Bell Potinger Co. of UK is being paid US $
30,000/- and Lexicon Co. of India is paid US $ 20,000/- towards achieving this end.
