In academic research Evaluation is to correct the paper so that paper may have value and have
evaluation. In other word, “to correct weak point so that paper might get evaluation. And have
comment that papers is good or not or would it be acceptable as suppose to be acceptable?.”
Simply we can say evaluation is like correction in order to get value, evaluated papers. A
researcher writer should not feel shy or disappointed to do correction, because correction is
“correction that makes his research to meet the institutional criteria acceptable, better and
complete,”
Concept of Evaluation:
In every walk of life the process of evaluation takes place in one or the other form. If the
evaluation is lost from human life may be the purpose or aim of life would lose. And it is only by
evaluation we can know or distinguish between good and bad. All our work’s development
revolves around the evaluation process.
Education is known as which is present in human being to develop human’s resources, skill,
motivation, knowledge and the like. And evaluation helps to build an educational programme,
evaluate its achievement and make good upon its effectiveness. Evaluation practice many roles
in the teaching-learning process.
It helps in forming the value of judgement, educational, or achievement of student. Means it can
make succeed students.
Evaluation is very important requirement for the education system. And it tell us the way to our
future succeed and provide our further studied.
The objective of evaluation is Simply we can say as below:
Definition of Evaluation:
A. Placement function:
1. Evaluation helps to study the entry behaviour of the children in all respect.
2. That helps to undertake special instructional programmes.
3. To provide for individualisation or instruction.
4. It also helps to select pupils for higher studies, for different vocation and spedalised
course.
B. Diagnostic function:
1. Evaluation has to diagnose the weak points in the school programme as well as weakness
of the students.
2. To suggest relevant remedial programmes.
3. To adopt instruction to the different needs of the pupils.
4. To evaluate the progress of these weak students in term of their capacity, ability and goal.
C. Predictive functions:
1. To discover potential abilities and aptitudes among the learners.
2. Thus to predict the future success of the children.
3. And also helps the child in selecting the right elective.
D. Guidance functions.
1. Assists a person in making decision about courses and careers.
2. Enable a learner to know his pace of learning and lapses in his learning.
3. Helps a teacher to know the children in details and to provide necessary educational,
vocational and personal guidance.
E. Motivation function:
1. To motivate, to direct, to inspire and to involve the students in learning.
2. To reward their learning and thus to motivate them towards study.
F. Development function:
1. Give reinforcement and feedback to teacher, students and teaching learning processes.
2. Helps in the achievement of educational objectives and goals.
