CONCEPT PAPER

TITLE: Sudoku: A combinatorial number-placement puzzle.

The mighty red and black Sudoku that helps people to overcome their boredom.

Statement of the problem

-The game induces enjoyment and relaxation.
-The game requires critical thinking and logic solving.
-The game stimulates the mind, improves your concentration.
Preliminary Literature
Based on Dr. Anne Corbett’s comment, the leader of their research team. Puzzles like Sudoku
and crosswords help people sharpen their memory, reasoning, attention and mind performance.
Especially with those who often partake these kinds of puzzles. With the improvements are mainly
about how swift and precise their performance in solving complex puzzles or problems.
She also said that playing these kind of games doesn’t surely reduce the chances of dementia.
However it does exercise and improve its functions, backing up the previous researches involved
about the correlation of the brain and playing puzzles.

Goal Statement
The research aims to bring a sense of calm, entertainment, order, relaxation and escape.
The research aims to improve the standard theme of Sudoku, introducing new themes and
slight additions.
The research aims to encourage all types and ages of people to play puzzles especially Sudoku
for mind to train or improve its cognitive functions.

Research Questions:
Can the project be finished in the given time?
Is Sudoku suitable for all ages?
Does Sudoku helps stimulate and benefit the mind
Does Sudoku gives enjoyment and relaxation for the users?
Does Sudoku require the user’s critical thinking and problem solving?

An Abridged Methodology
Using the python program, the programmers will code the Sudoku game in order to build the
game itself. After programming the game it will now be tested in its beta build to players and see its
efficiency, impact and sustainability. To implement new ideas to the standard game and attract users
of all ages.
The materials and equipment used in the project is the python program, tutorial videos and
surveys. The data were gathered using qualitative research, in which the programmers surveyed the
potential users of the program and analyze their feedbacks. With the use of feedbacks, the
programmers can now use it to improve the coding and program, like adding small additional features,
quality of life changes and some bug fixing. The data are also analyzed using descriptive statistics
which would determine what the most needed change is in the possible underlying issue. The scrum
methodology is mainly used in the development to assess the possible changes in the program
especially with the possible feedbacks and ideas of the users. For everyone has a say with what could
be done and must be done. The documentation will contain the whole process of development, the
changes done, bugs, patches and how the whole program was conceived. It will be a technical
document to express every change done and why it is done to the program.
TIMELINE
2 weeks of coding the programs structure.
5 days for debugging, error checking and user inputs or comments.
9 day for the improvement of the codes and the program themes.
1 week for the finalization of the program
2 days for the release and publishing of the game.
