themselves, but who has surprising qualities or abilities.

Dark horse: 2- someone who is not well known, and who surprises
people by winning a competition.(nobody knows much about them)

In the golf championship, dark horse Jack Fleck defeated Ben Hogan.

The movie is a dark horse for the award.

Party pooper: a person who spoils other people’s fun by


disapproving of or not taking part in an enjoyable activity.

Don't be such a party pooper!

He is such a party pooper and insisted to turn the music down.

I’m sorry to be a party pooper, but I have to go home now.

I'm sorry to be a party pooper, but I don't want to play this game.
