NHS Education for Scotland - Tier 2 Sponsorship Process for Medical ĂŶĚĞŶƚĂůTrainees in Scotland*

Required Documentation

Once all the above information has been provided and NES are satisfied the
appointment meets all requirements for sponsorship, the NES Tier 2
sponsorship team will email a COS to the Trainee Issuing of COS
Data must be provided by the Trainee, Employer and the Deanery before a COS can be issued. If
invalid documents are uploaded, details are incomplete and/or the deadline given to provide the
information is missed, trainees may experience a delay in the COS being issued

Trainee applies to the Home Office for Tier 2 Visa using the COS number.

Making a Tier 2 visa application to the Home Office


Applicants are advised to ensure that they meet all Home Office requirements and understand the
process (e.g. a COS can only be used once and is valid for 3 months from the date it was
