Instruction Bulletin LaVergne, TN, USA
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
• Only qualified electrical workers should install this equipment. Such
work should only be performed after reading this entire instruction set.
• NEVER work alone.
• Before performing visual inspections, tests, or maintenance on this
equipment, disconnect all sources of electric power. Assume that all
circuits are live until they have been completely deenergized, tested,
and tagged. Pay particular attention to the design of the power system.
Consider all sources of power, including the possibility of backfeeding.
• Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm that all
power is off.
• Disconnect the Sepam™ unit current inputs by unplugging the CCA634
connector. Do not disconnect the wires from it. The CCA634 connectors
ensure continuity of the current transformer secondary circuits.
• Short-circuit the current transformer secondary circuits before
disconnecting the wires connected to the CCA634 connector.

CCA634 Connector for 1A/5A + Ir CT Current Sensor 63230-216-249A1
Instruction Bulletin 05/2007
Connecting and Assembling the 1. Open the two side shields (see Figure 2) for access to the connection
CCA634 Connector terminals. The shields can be removed, if necessary, to simplify wiring.
2. Depending on the wiring configuration required, remove or reverse the
Figure 1: View with Side Shields Removed, bridging strap. This is used to link either terminals 1, 2, and 3, or
Terminals Numbered terminals 1, 2, 3, and 9 (see Figure 1, to the left).
NOTE: For more information, see the Sepam™ relay manuals:
— Sepam Series 20 User’s Manual 63230-216-208
— Sepam Series 40 User’s Manual 63230-216-219

3. Use terminal 7 (1A) or 8 (5A) to measure the residual current according
to the CT secondary.
Retaining 4. Connect the wires using 0.16 in (4 mm) ring lugs. The connector
Tabs accommodates wires with cross-sections of AWG 16–10 (1.5–6 mm²).
The wires should only exit the unit base (see Figure 2).
5. Close the side shields.
6. Insert the retaining tabs (see Figure 1) into the slots on the base unit.
7. Pivot the connector toward the unit to plug it into the 9-pin
SUB-D connector.
8. Tighten the mounting screw.
