Youth Programs
Do you have a child in 4th-8th grade? If so, give your child a
chance to get involved with other Catholic youth in our par-
ish! RSVP to any event your child plans to attend at cbar-
rett@standrewcatholic.com. If you would like to be added to
my email list and notified of upcoming events (or last minute changes re-

Many of the events need volunteers for transportation. All volunteers must
have a completed volunteer packet and drivers form on file with the Archdio-
cese.
Champs (4th-5th) and Edge (6th-8th) will meet on Wednesday nights
for Youth Nights in room 202! Champs and Edge will meet together
from 7-8 pm. We will not be meeting in November so our next Youth
Night will be on December 15th.
December 4: Fleece Blanket Party in room 202 & 203 from 6-8 PM.
Each youth must bring 4 yards of fleece (2 yards solid color/2 yards
with a print) and a pair of heavy duty scissors. We make the blankets
and donate them to children at a local shelter. Snack donations will be
appreciated.
December 11: CHAMPS/EDGE Christmas Party at Brunswick Bowl-
ing on Old Roswell Rd from 2:30 to 4:30, Cosmic style! $20 CASH
per child (includes pizza, drink, shoe rental, and bowling). Don't for-

JOURNEY IN FAITH FORMATION
JIFF WILL NOT BE MEETING this Wednesday, November 24th be-
cause of the Thanksgiving Holiday. They will meet again for the next
session on December 1st.
KRIS KINGLE
We invite all parishioners to participate in our 2nd annual Kris Kringle
Parish Event on November 27th and 28th. It is your opportunity to
offer prayers for some special parishioners. All parishioners names
will be placed in a drawing. With the help of our Ushers, each family
is welcomed to draw a name of another family in the St. Andrew Par-
ish. You are then asked to devote some time in prayer for the family
you drew. They will be your “special prayer intention” for the Christ-
mas Season. You may offer daily prayers, offer an hour in Adoration,
send Christmas cards, or have even have a Mass said in honor of the
family that you have drawn. What better Christmas to receive than
the gift of prayer.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Please sign-up for Eucharistic Adoration for the month of
December. You can spend a quiet hour once a week with
Our Lord, listening and praying before the Blessed Sacra-
ment. You can sign-up in the chapel during the week or in
the narthex on weekends. Guardians commit to one hour a week (of
your choice) for one month.
The Adoration chapel will be closed from Wednesday, Novem-
ber 24th until Monday, November 29th for the Thanksgiving
Holidays.

The Advent season is full of anticipation as we await for the arrive of
our Lord. During this season, it's important to remember those who
are less fortunate by putting your faith into action. Want a way to get

Paul conference on Tuesday, December 7th and 7:00pm in the Multi-
Purpose room.
WOMAN’S GUILD ACTIVITIES
It is time to decorate the "Halls of the Family Center"! Tuesday,
November 30 we will have pizza and salad at 6PM and decorate
the Family Center for the upcoming Christmas Party. Please join
up for an evening of Christmas music and decorating!!
SECOND COLLECTION
The second collection next week will be for our sister parish, St. Cath-
erine in Bethlehem. We have sponsored this parish since 2004. In a
few weeks we will be creating a Spiritual Bouquet for strengthening
the spiritual relationship between parishes.
"FLEECE HELP US"
We're currently collecting fleece for our blanket making project in
December. The Champs & Edge Youth groups make the blankets
for needy children. We need 4 yards of fleece (2 yards of a solid/ 2
yards of a print). If you have any questions please contact Christen

fleece to the front desk and make it to the attention of Christen Bar-

THE ELIJAH CUP
The Elijah Cup is a chalice that is given to parishioners
and families to take home from Mass to use as a focal
point while praying for vocations. You may sign up for

PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION!
Christmas Giving Trees: The trees will be up the
weekend after Thanksgiving. Last year, through your
generous donations, we received 33 bikes, hundreds of toys
and household items, and over $2000 in gift cards. We helped:
19 adults without minor children, mostly seniors, 35 families
with a total of 99 children, 2 Roswell area schools.
Charities such as: Homestretch which serves formerly home-
less families in North Fulton. Atlanta Urban Ministries, which
fights to end homelessness in Atlanta. My Turn Now which is a
foster care agency serving children with special needs. And we
were even able to send gifts to a church in Louisiana that is still
trying to help families piece their lives back together following
Katrina.
The need was significant, but St. Andrew was able to bless
many individuals and families last Christmas. We expect the
needs to be just as great this year, so if you are able to help,
grab a few stars from the trees on November 27th and 28th
and return those items, gift-wrapped with the star attached to the
outside of the package and make someone’s Christmas a little
better this year.
We would like the items returned by December 12.
The items will be distributed to families and parishioners in need,
along with local charities. Due to the tough economic times for
so many families, gift cards will once again be very appreciated.
We are working with many families who are having difficulty pur-
chasing basic necessities -- groceries, gas for their car, clothing,
etc.

Overnight Shelters: St. Martin de Porres will once again feed
the homeless at the cold weather shelters at the Shrine of the
Immaculate Conception and Central Presbyterian on the follow-
ing evenings (all Mondays). December 6, January 3, February
7, and March 7.
There are three ways to help: prepare food (we provide reci-
pes), serve the food at the shelters (only requires about 3 hours,
usually home between 8:30 & 9:00 PM), stay overnight until 6:30
am (safe atmosphere with private sleeping quarters). We have
the most difficulty finding overnight volunteers, but it is really
easy duty. We break the night up into watches, and since guests
sleep between 9 PM and 5:30 am, there is plenty of quiet time to
catch up on reading, paperwork, etc. The more volunteers we
have, the more sleep we get! We try to carpool from St. Andrew
and leave by 5:15, or you can meet us downtown at the shelter.

Downtown Lunches: In some years past, we have not served
at the Union Mission in November and/or December since they
receive a lot of help from other groups during the holidays. This
year, due to their increased needs, we will be taking lunches
downtown in both November and December. The November
date is Sunday Nov. 28 (the Sunday after Thanksgiving), and
the December date is Sunday Dec. 26. If you are in town for
either of the holiday weekends, please consider assisting with
food donations for the lunches. The men at the mission truly
appreciate our support.

ARCHDIOCESE ANNUAL APPEAL
The timing of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal is changing for 2011.
Archbishop Gregory’s annual solicitation letter which you traditionally
received in the fall will now be sent in January. A letter explaining the
changes is being sent to previous contributors. If you have not paid
your 2010 pledge, please do so before December 31, 2010.

PRESENTACIONES

Las presentaciones se hacen a los 40 días de nacido el ni-

ño/a, necesita apuntarse una semana antes en la oficina.
Presentaciones de 3 años, el niño/a tiene que estar bauti-
zado y ser miembro de la iglesia de St. Andrew. No se
hacen misas de presentación de 3 años particulares.
Si desea ofrecer una misa por intenciones personales; de salud o
difuntos apúntese en el Ministerio Hispano. Para mas información

QUINCEANERAS
La familia debe estar registrada en St. Andrew. La joven tiene que
estar en proceso de preparación para la confirmación, pertenecer al
grupo juvenil y asistir a tres charlas de preparación. La misa de Acción
de Gracia se celebra el tercer sábado de mes en el horario de 11:00
am, 1:00 pm y 3:00 pm. Registrarse en la oficina del Ministerio 5 meses
antes de la fecha.
Si tienen una nueva dirección o número de teléfono, por favor comuní-
quense con la oficina parroquial para darnos los cambios. Es muy
importante que nos ayuden a mantener nuestros archivos actualizados.

EL DIEZMO. Una hora de salario a la semana es lo mínimo que
debes considerar ofrecerle al Señor. Pon tú donación en los sobres que
recibes, por ellos sabemos que estas cumpliendo con la misa domini-
cal.
BAUTISMO. Los padres tienen que estar registrados y asistiendo a la misa dominical por tres meses
antes del bautismo de sus hijos. Presentar Acta de Nacimiento del niño/a. Padrinos casados sacramen-
talmente deben de traer copia del certificado de Matrimonio. Solteros: mayores de 16 años de edad,
certificado de Bautismo. Parejas en unión libre no califican para ser padrinos. Pláticas de preparación:
Primer Martes del mes de 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, asistencia obligatoria de padres y padrinos. Ceremonia Bautismal
segundo Sábado de mes a las 11:00 am.
CONFIRMACION. Este curso de preparación es de dos años para jóvenes que han
hecho la Primera Comunión y estén en noveno o decimo grado. Inscripción en la
oficina del Ministerio Hispano.
MATRIMONIO. Inscritos en la parroquia. Reservar la fecha con seis meses de anticipación.
Certificado de bautismo actualizada, licencia pre-matrimonial, clases de preparación LLASU
(Llamados a ser uno). Cita con el padre. Inscribirse en el Ministerio Hispano.
CATECUMENADO: Eres tu un adulto católico que te falta uno o todos los sacramentos? Ofrecemos un
curso especial donde te preparamos para que puedas recibir los sacramentos y cumplir así con los mandatos
de la Iglesia Católica. El Rito de Iniciación Católica para Adultos y jóvenes mayores de 9 años imparte las
clases los domingos de 5::30-7:00 pm. Inscribirse en el Ministerio Hispano.
BODA COMUNITARIA ABRIL 30 2011. PARA PAREJAS REGISTRADAS EN LA IGLE-
SIA DE ST. ANDREW Y QUE VIVEN EN UNION LIBRE POR UN PERIODO DE MAS DE
TRES ANOS.. Si les falta algún sacramento asistan a las clases para adultos los
