Regular evaluation updates are required with every unit. Please remember to

Week 1 This week you worked on your idea generation and

topic research

What have you been asked to We have been asked to do our proposals and
do? research our chosen topic in depth. For example, I
have watched a couple short documentaries on the
problem being investigated by many journalists and
experts

What are you making your 3
production on and why have you
chosen this topic?
The chosen topic for the production is ‘knife and gang
crime in the UK’ I wanted to try choosing a topic that is
relevant and relatable to young people like me. This is
so we can make sure we leave a message and
impact on anyone watching to try and change things
within us

What research have you
completed this week and what
have you learned?
have done research for the female side in knife and
gang crime violence. Usually we associate gangs and
violence with men and young boys, but a large
percentage off males have been forced and
blackmailed into being a part of this dangerous group
of people.Many offenders will often have girlfriends or
wives that could be affected if the criminal has been
put to jail. This can often be tragic if the women is
pregnant and has no other choice but to have an
abortion or to give up her life and studies to raise the
child on her own

I have done the work that’s been set but I would have
liked to start the planning of where we are going to
film and shoot. We have organised the interviews we
need but it has been very short notice for them since
they too have busy plans, and we need to plan out
our journey’s.

This week you worked on your factual programme
This week i haven't had do much research apart from
working out train times and finding out the different
tubes and buses we need to get in order for us to
reach our destination.
I also managed to get a email back from our expert
explaining more in depth on where about we can film
and who is available to film for us.
I have worked on getting the right equipment we
need to be booked, and Kimberley has done our
location reece.
We have also both worked on coming u with questions
to ask or expert.
Our planning has hoped us decided what kind of feel
we are going with in our documentary. We’re not
having a presenter so we decided its best to go for a
more casual and informal feel to suit the type of
documentary we are trying to shoot. While still trying to
keep the seriousness of the topic and situation at
hand.
I am on track this week, I've just had to finish off this
weekly blog.
Right now i don't need to do anything, but i will be
staying in touch with our expert to explain our idea in
depth more and to plan our day to reduce stress
when we go film.
This week you worked on your production
Our planning was very helpful because everything we
planned had come together in the documentary. This
saved us a lot of time and stress because we could go
in and just focus on what needed to be done to
produce the best work we can.
We set up an interview with a Detective Sergeant, and
this was really the main highlight of the documentary
and what the whole doc is about. So it has added a
huge role to the video.
To be honest we didn’t have any problems when
filming this production. Everything seemed to flow well
with eachother.
I feel that me and Kim worked well on this and
managed to get everything organised and together.
We equally assigned each other roles to take the work
load off each others shoulders and helped each other
if we were struggling.
How much work did you complete We really only completed the filming outside of the
outside of the lessons? lesson and everything else was done during lesson
regarding the location reeces and research.
