“The library is a living organism”, states the fifth law of Rangathan’s five laws
of Library Science. As the law states, collection and services of the library should keep
on growing and different services are to be applied so that information needs of the
users shall be met.
Just as healthy brain is essential for healthy human being, a healthy library is an
asset for promotion and advancement of health sciences in a health Institution.
The library of a medical school plays significant role in molding the medical
students career. Then we have to think how best the library be adequately organized to
provide maximum reference as well as reading potential for the students and staff of the
Institution.
