III. Procedure:
1. Presentation
A. Unlocking of Difficulties:
The demonstrative pronouns are:

This (singular – to point out something that is near in either


distance or time).
That (singular – to point out something this is far away in either
distance or time).
These (plural – to point out some things that are near in either
distance or time).
Those (plural – to point out some things that are far in either
distance or time)

Ask the following questions:


1. When do we use the demonstrative pronouns this?
2. What are the demonstrative pronouns?
3. How does demonstrative pronoun help us to identify if the sentence is
a singular or plural?

B. Motivation:
Each pupil has different cards with the words THIS, THESE, THAT and
THOSE. After getting the cards, they will see a picture; they will raise the card that they
think best represents the image in the sentence.
C. Motive Question:

Ask: What do you think is our lesson for today.

2. Modelling:

Demonstrative Pronoun- is a pronoun that is used to point to something


specific within a sentence. These pronouns can indicate items in space or time, and they
can be either singular or plural.
Examples:

1. Is this my drink?
2. Those are new bikes.
3. That is my house.
4. Did you drop these?
5. Those are my family’s picture.

3. Guided Practice:
Individual activity:
A. Write at least 5 examples of demonstrative pronouns.
B. Circle the demonstrative pronouns in each sentence.
1. This is my favourite teddy bear.
2. Would you like some of these?
3. Those years at the lake were the best times of my life.
4. That is the toy I would like to buy.
5. These are absolutely delicious.
