M: Guys, please speak a bit loudly.

M: So, due to also pursue teaching here as well, do you also (gets interrupted)

MRP2 :
M: So like many of you said that you have had volunteering experience with one or the other
organizations. I would like to understand what was the main motive. Firstly, what organisation
was it, what was the kind of work you were doing there and third what was the motivation, what
was driving you to do that?
M: For others
M: So your primary motivator was that when you were inspired by your friend and had time for
that?
M: For others who haven’t done much volunteering work did you ever come across any such
social cause where you could contribute any way be a monetary way or in kind. Did you guys
come across any such cause like in one or two years, recent one or two years?
M (Krishnika) : If I ask you why were you part of such projects, what motivated you?
M (Krishnika) : So, Is it like this, were you like this probably from your childhood or did
something happen at your childhood or did you see closely someone being affected by all of
these things , what was the real motivation for you to do the social things.
M (Krishnika) : And for other as well, what was the real motivation as in where did it all start with
M (Krishnika) - For you, I would like to know the motivation , why did you go there ?
M ((Krishnika) In the past one year did you contribute or not to any cause ?
M – So what do you think in your case was the part in their communication which motivated you
to be presented
M- I would also like to know if you guys have ever done donating in terms of money, monetary
value
M – If you could share a line about what it was, organization or for what cause it was.
M- I would like to know that, you said that bhavishya was very encouraging, so what part did
you find encouraging. They sent mails, thy talked personally, so what was the part did you find
encouraging.
M – For others as well I would like to know if they have donated for such cause ?
M- How frequently do you donate for such causes ?
M: Since you guys said that you have also donated money for many causes, I would like to
understand that what was the source of your funds for donation. Was it your own salary or
pocket money?
M: So if I say you want to support these kids in any way or the other, in kind or by money, then
what would be your preferable mode and in what sense would you like to help them?

MRP1
M: So guys actually we want to prepare a campaign for asking people to donate for the
education of not so well off kids. So, we wanted to understand what are the motivations behind
people/ students of IIM Lucknow, what are the causes for which they would want to donate for
and what motivates them basically to donate. I would like to tell you that we need your honest
opinions about everything, there are no right or wrong answers and you can be as open as you
want to. If you can start by introducing yourselves briefly.
M (Krishnika) : Like to ask PGP2 basically, that have you guys come across any social cause or
any donation drive any volunteering drive at IIM Lucknow in the past one year.
M (Krishnika) : Any other drives which you know about
M (Krishnika) : So, uh did any of you participated in any of these events
M (Krishnika) : Are you still teaching there?
M (Krishnika) : So, what was your motivation there to go and teach why did you stop
M (Krishnika) : And for you guys (addressing others)
M- I would like to know how did you guys come to know about these initiative which are going
on – online, offline, through a friend or were you actively looking for it ?
M: When I speak about underprivileged kids, what is the first thing that pops in your mind? What
do you understand by underprivileged kids? Who are they?
M: So what according to you would be the primary needs for which money can contribute?
M: Its the underprivilaged kids. And what according to you are the primary needs for which
someone can donate money for those kids?

MRP3:
M- Do you guys also feel that you donate for some causes and do not donate for other causes.
Is there any affinity towards certain causes ?
M (Krishnika): Do you guys also feel like you donate for some causes and do not want to donate
for other causes. Is there affinity towards any of the causes.
M: And Why so?
M: How do you judge that the drive is genuine?
M: How did the organisations for which you donated approached you? What was the medium by
which they approached you? Was it through mails or was it through phone calls?
M: Where you donated….
M: I would like to understand that in your case, was it also because any of your acquaintances
donated or your family donated or was it because of that you donated.
M: What if I told you guys that the money is for building facilities for the students. For example
many of the students don’t have schools in their villages. They don’t have proper notebooks
and pens and they don’t have chairs and tables to sit with and books to study from.
Would you be inclined towards donating such cause or still because let’s say if you have to
compare that with volunteering what would be your take on that .
M: to conclude I just want to ask you guys if I need to donate for Bachpan Bachao aur to donate
for maid’s child education. We would it take equal place in your mind or would you prefer one
over the other?
M2: how would you decide basis the kind of beneficiary of your cause? Would it be preferred if
your beneficiary is a child under any circumstances would you prefer to donate to a cancer
patient who does not have the kind of money that he has to raise for the operation or will you be
willing to donate for say a flood victims in general as a whole consensus based on the number
of casualties. so how would you evaluate one situation vis-a-vis the other and what would be
your preference and why?
M: Others? I would like to know the opinion of others as well
M: Okay so what if you have to donate to one cause
M: But why so?

M: if I ask each of you to design a campaign to encourage the students of IIM Lucknow to
donate.. to donate for this cause for helping them get access to clean water, clean urinals,
helping them get access to books, pens ,how would you go about it?
M: How would you guys (1st Years) go about this campaign for IIM L Students
M: And how would you go about motivating people to visit these places?
M: And what about others if I ask the same question
For someone who has taken a loan, I think most of the students would have taken a loan for
their MBA and they would not be willing to part with their money that easily, they are not
earning themselves for 2 years. So time is something they should be pitch on
M: But will it solve the purpose?

M: Yeah mutually exclusive. You can choose both as well or you can choose either, but as
student IIM Lucknow

M: So one last question

M : Thank you guys, a lot, for your time.
