EQUIPMENT
UNLOCKING: Exploration/Motivation/Opening Approx. 60 mins.

1. Group the students into five. Let them imagine that they are inside a
court.
PROCEDURE 2. Ask them to make a very short skit about a.) a journalist who wrote
something bad about a government official b.) a TV host who gave a
false statement damaging a guest’s reputation c.) a commercial that
promotes violence and use of prohibited drugs d.) a person who
violently shouts while the hearing is ongoing e.) a person who
produces pirated CDs and DVDs of movies

UNPACKING: Explanation/Discussion/Processing Approx. 60 mins


1. Discuss the different cases of libel, slander, anti-obscenity law,
sedition, contempt of court and piracy.
2. Explain the abuse and misuse of media and information
3. Discuss the influence of media in our economy, education, society and
politics

UPGRADING: Expansion/Practice/Application Approx. 120 mins.

1. Let them write an objective and detailed review about a popular food
product to inform the public about it. The given situation is, the
students are food critic who manages a weekly column in a leading
magazine. The head of the Family Council in your community
approached them to write a honest review about that popular
product.
PROCEDURE
UNIFYING: Evaluation/Synthesis/Assignment Approx.60 mins.

1. With the same group of five, let them create an informative jingle that
highlights the agricultural products of our country to boost our
economy.
