Narrative REPORT
Program Committee
Class Milestone (Mini Library Project)
October 26 2019

Pre-Implementation of the Class Milestone

The class milestone was to implement a mini library at a daycare center in San Roque, Camaligan.
As the program committee, consisting of Ian Montesclaros, Anfernie Ramos, Jude Abad, Vhenz Bagsic,
and Mark Paz, our purpose was to produce and organize a program for the mini library project. We were
assigned to arrange decorations in the daycare center and maintain the flow of the program. In order to
complete these tasks, we divided our committee into three functions. The first function is the program
emcees which composed of Ian Montesclaros and Anfernie Ramos. The second function is the program
decorators which were led by Jude Abad and Vhenz Bagsic. The third and last function is the program
technician which was orchestrated by Mark Paz. Each function had a unique task assigned to them as
preparation for the class milestone. The program emcees had to prepare a script and a hard-copy
schedule for the program, the program decorators had to design a tarpaulin and buy decorations for the
venue of the class milestone, and the program technician had to set up microphones and speakers. In the
process of preparation, our committee worked diligently with other committees to complete our assigned
tasks. Without the cooperation of the leader of the logistics committee, Trisha Pasaba, Ian and Anfernie
would not have planned the program schedule better than how it turned out. Without the logistics
committee, Jude and Vhenz would not have had a budget for the tarpaulin and decorations. Without the
cooperation of the leader of the communications committee, Willyfred Espiritu, Mark Paz would not have
acquired speakers and microphones for the program.

During the Implementation of the Class Milestone

On the day the class milestone was held, the program emcees encountered a problem. When
preparing the program script, they thought the kids in attendance would be between the ages of 8-12 and
were already literate. However, the kids that attended on the day were below 8 years of age and most were
illiterate. As a result, the program emcees were forced to adapt to the situation. Because the kids had
trouble understanding English, Ian decided to step down as an emcee and changed his role to program
assistant as he was not confident in speaking in Tagalog or Bicol in front of a crowd. Anfernie, originally
assigned as an assistant emcee, took the challenge of being the main emcee instead but had trouble
engaging the kids. He also decided to step down as a program assistant. Because the program didn’t have
an emcee, Trisha Pasaba of the logistics committee took charge of the emcee position. From that point, the
program went smoothly and according to schedule. Unlike the program emcees function, the other
functions did not experience any trouble on the day. Jude and Vhenz did a terrific job in decorating the
daycare center with balloons along with the tarpaulin Anfernie designed. Mark did a splendid job in setting
up the speakers and microphones and providing music for the audience. Although Ian and Anfernie had to
step down as emcees due to circumstances, they did a great job assisting Trisha with the prizes and games
for the kids.

Post-Implementation of the Class Milestone

The program of the class milestone went better than what we expected. Despite the early troubles
experienced by the program emcees, the program was smooth and enjoyable. We would like to give a lot of
credit to Trisha Pasaba, who created the Mini Library Project idea, for stepping up as the main emcee. Had
she not volunteered to be an emcee, we as the program committee feel the program of the project would not
have been as smooth and enjoyable as how it turned out. After the program, the program committee
rewarded themselves for their efforts and contributions towards the project by having a feast a Vhenz’s
house.
