Artificial Intelligence is designing machines that have the ability to think.

It is the intelligence of
machines.

With the rise of computers, the process of doing manual work has been decreased to a great extent.

Now that computers are used almost in every sector, humans are highly dependent on them.

As we are totally surrounded by machines and computer systems, this gave humans a general thought
like “Can a machine think and behave as humans do? “. Though this was a general thought, its curiosity
leads to the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

AI development has begun with the intention of developing intelligence in machines similar to that of
humans.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is seen in many areas of modern life. Where once the concept was seen mostly
in the pages of science fiction novels, many of us now encounter it daily in the form of self-driving cars,
algorithms to predict loan defaulters and the virtual assistants in our smartphones, tablets and desktop
computers.

With so many resources being dedicated to the development of AI and no real obstacles predicted, its
rapid development is set to continue. In many ways, this is a good thing that will enhance the world and
our experience of it. There are also experts that fear for what the progress of AI means for humankind.

What AI is doing for us now

Artificial Intelligence is already able, as many of us have seen for ourselves, to drive vehicles and
negotiate obstacles. This is being used in modern civilian life, and has applications for military operations
and space exploration.

Serious success is being seen in the trials of new machinery designed to identify tumours on CT scans
and X-rays, and they have performed with at least 50 per cent more accuracy than human experts have
so far.

Mining and managing Big Data, as well as discovering important correlations within it, is possible with e-
discovery software. This technology is also being used to get through huge mountains of legal
documents more effectively and efficiently than human paralegals can. Some journalism jobs like sports
summaries and market reports are also already within the scope of AI, as are certain middle
management tasks.

Let us look at some scenarios where Technology can play a huge part in our lives :

Imagine if we could search our surroundings in the same way we search the web. Using existing cameras
and advances in AI, we can now find things and people in the real world, in real time

When using smartphone we interact with AI from the obvious features such as the built-in smart
assistants (Alexa, Siri)

With Social Media becoming non-separable part of today’s life, the feeds that we see in our timeline to
the notifications that we receive from these apps everything is being curated by AI, impacting most of
the decisions we make.

Whenever we use Google/Apple Maps for navigating or calling an Uber or booking a flight ticket, we are
using AI. AI is behind many of Google’s products and is a big priority for the company. The banking and
finance industry heavily relies on artificial intelligence for things like customer service, fraud protection,
chatbots, investment.

As illustrated above all of our lives are impacted by AI on a daily basis at every level. Artificial Intelligence
became the most important part of our daily life. Our life is changed by AI because this technology is
used in a wide area of day to day services.
