 Secure Question Paper Management and Delivery
Services

Question Bank Management:

- A question bank can be created for each by soliciting contributions in terms of questions
from the various paper setters of the university.
- Using advanced methods like Bloom’s Taxonomy, he difficulty levels of these questions
can be defined and the weightage of marks each question must carry can be
determined.
- A neat, structured repository of questions for each course can be made and maintained
using this module. All types of Questions are supported, namely
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Theory (Long Answer) Questions
- Match the pairs/ True or False/ Fill in the blanks
- Various roles like Process Owner / Reviewer/ Moderator/ End User can be created, and
rights can be assigned to them.
- Facility is provided to the faculty from respective subjects to create question banks with
model answers and grading.

Question Paper Generation:

- This system eliminates any manual intervention in the process of setting the question
papers, thereby making the process of setting question papers completely foolproof.
- Based on the business rules created at the back end of the system as to setting of the
question papers defining various attributes of the Question paper like the number of questions,
the difficulty levels of various questions, the weightages of marks, and the type of questions, a
question paper (in single or multiple sets) is generated by the system, which can be delivered to
the examination centers just before the Examination, leaving time only enough to take prints of
the question paper and distribute to the examinee students.

Appointment of Question Paper Setters/ Question Paper Reviewers/

Examiners/ Moderators:
- If a repository of these personnel for each course is available with the university, this can
be taken into the Appointment module, and automated appointment letters / SMS alerts
& reminders can be sent to these.

Online Secure Question Paper Delivery:
- Question Papers, either created through the Question Paper Generation module, or
manually set / typed, are uploaded in the system in an encrypted format. These are
decrypted and made available for download in the Exam centers just before the
Examination time, leaving time just enough for the staff at exam centers to print them
and distribute to the students in the Examination Halls.
- The system is Ultra Secure with authentication through HTTPS, Mobile OTP, Password,
IP restriction, roles and rights, and above all, face recognition through the webcam.
- The system facilitates Creation and Management of Courses, tests and documents.
- The document access can be restricted at the course level
- Paper setters can be assigned, and daily, weekly reminders through SMS and Email can
be sent.
- Multiple Papers/ Sets can be uploaded.

Security Features:
The following levels of Security are mandatory to be passed before the person
authorized to download the question paper can download it.
- Face Recognition: Face recognition can be enabled as a Main Feature for fool proofing
the process. It adds an extra layer of security for the user to download Question Paper
with the valid and authenticated registered face. The System Admin’s face is captured
and saved on the system. When this person logs in, his photograph is clicked by the
webcam and only if it matches with the photograph present with us, the person can login.
His / her present photo is saved in the system.
- Watermarking/ Secret code at the time of printing: Every Question paper printed
after downloading has a random unique secret code watermark which enables the admin
to trace the time, place and date of the question paper downloaded. This watermark
helps us in tracking the culprit in case any question paper leakage is reported.
- Logs: Powerful and in-depth logs are maintained by the system to keep a check on it’s
usage. Few of the important features of the log are,

- IP address from which the question paper was downloaded
- OTP login Passwords on SMS: One-time passwords for each session on login are
sent to the registered mobile phone number. This is the same type of security level as
provided by banks for online access to accounts.

 - HTTPS: The question paper distribution happens using HTTPS protocol. Thus, the
entire communication between the host server and client will be encrypted.
- Use of BCrypt library for passwords: BCrypt is an extremely secure way of saving

- SSL-based traffic: SSL protocol is used for the web based traffic.

Admissions:
- Once the verification of the eligibility of the candidate is ascertained by the
entrance examination or the merit list processes and the data is available, the
online admission process for the students is initiated. The salient features of this
WSTAPPS module are:
- The students can fill the admission forms online seeking admissions in
the colleges allocated to them/ desired by them.
- Students can upload the documents required to be submitted for
admissions (photo, past mark sheets, identity proofs, parents’ details and identity
proofs) as scanned files online
- The colleges will in turn fill in the information of students whose
admissions have been confirmed by them, basis which the PNR number of the
students will be generated and the further examination related activities done by
the students can be co-related to this PNR number in the system itself.

Examination Automation:
WST apps is a secure, scalable, and reliable platform over which various
applications are built. The various Examination Automation Applications built by us
on this platform are:

Form Filling of University Semester Examinations:

- Examinations scheduling considering all the required constraints is done, and
time table is set
- The student could pick his/her eligible subjects which will be derived from the
past records of students (their results of preceding examinations)
- Examination fees will be collected from the students Online, via payment
gateways
- The outcome of the process once the form is completely filled in all respects
is a downloadable hall ticket getting generated out of the system.

Online Examination (In Semester):

Distributed Mode Online Examination for University In-Course examinations
across examination centers

 -Intelltest is a distributed Online Examination System controlled by a central
server. There are two major components of this distributed system, as
described below.
- Central Examination Server: Which is owned, maintained and
monitored by WeShine Tech
- Agent Servers at the Examination Centers: These are owned by the
Examination Centers, and maintained and monitored by WeShine Tech.
During the entire period of the Examination, WeShine Tech has sole access of
this server, and even the Examination Centers Owning these servers too are
afforded no access to the servers. These servers can push and pull data back
and forth from the secured Examination terminals on which the examination
is conducted, and the Central Examination Server. It merely acts as a bridge,
and can make no modifications/ alterations to the process of data flow
between the Central Examination Server and the Examination terminals.

We conduct Online Examinations in a distributed mode, and it has one

huge advantage. In case the examination is disrupted at any one
examination center due to unforeseen circumstances, the Examination
conducted at other examination centers remains valid. At the examination
center where the examination is disrupted, a re-examination can be taken
with a new question paper, thereby minimizing the cost and effort of the
examination body to a great extent, yet keeping the process sacrosanct.

Scanning and On-Screen Evaluation of Answer Sheets:

- Answer Sheets will be scanned and uploaded on a single server which can
then be evaluated online by evaluator in a controlled environment

 - Answer booklets will be made available for the evaluators after masking all
the personal details of the students.
- A hierarchy of evaluators, moderators, and super moderators can be created,
maintained and adhered to, with proper definition of roles and rights.
- Totaling and tabulation of marks is automated, and is done at the backend,
This feature alone saves nearly 40% time of the evaluator, and makes the
totaling and tabulation part of the process accurate and error free.
- In turn, implementing this system is extremely helpful in addressing the
typical pain area of Declaring Results in time.

Result Processing
- All the results of Theory Examinations, Online Examinations, Viavi, Internal
Examinations etc. are uploaded in one single system.
- This information is then used to process results of each candidate right from
his year of admission to his passing out.
- The data required for printing results, Marksheets, college ledgers/ gazettes,
and degrees will be derived from this database and the results will be
processed.

Online Application for Revaluation and Redressal Systems

- Post results, students can apply for revaluation and photocopies of their
answer books online
- The entire process of Revaluation and photocopy distribution is digitized
- The statuses of revaluation can be sent to the students through Email / SMSs
regularly until his complaint is redressed.
