In recent times, global organizations are using ‘Big data analytics’ to analyze and harness their
data which helps them in making informed business decisions and identifying new opportunities.
This leads to smarter business moves; efficient operations; cost reductions; higher profits and
satisfied customers. With changed nature of businesses and rapid growth of technology, the
role of finance professionals, including the management accountants, have also evolved
significantly. It has now become imperative for the finance professionals to keep them updated
with new technological advancements that are impacting the profession. Big data Analytics is
one of such technologies which need to be acquired as a ‘must-have skill’ by those who intend
to pursue a career in finance. Keeping up with the need of this technology, the Research and
Publications Committee of ICMA Pakistan has decided to bring out an exclusive issue of Journal
on this topic to provide basic understanding of big data analytics and how our members can
harness the power of big data and analytics to significantly transform themselves and their
organizations where they are employed.
I would appreciate that those members who are interested to write on above theme may kindly
convey their consent urgently on email: rp@icmap.com.pk and send the article before the
deadline of 30th November 2018.
