On November9,2019,kIr.M ichaelAlexanderBrowncommittedahomicid'
e inFranklinCounty,
Virginia,located in the W estern DistrictofVirginia.Subsqquentto which,warrantsforarrestwere
issuedinFranklinCounty,VirgiNiaandtheFranklinCountySheriff'sOfficerequestedthe Uni
tedStates
MarshalsService to adoptthe fugitive investigationforapprehension purposes undertheviolentcrim es
initiativeand federaltaskforce involvem entm andated byCongress.The casew asadopted and an
investigation undertaken. '

On Novem bdr10,2019,an interview with the m otherofthefugitive,Vanessa Hanson,and

tnessto the crim e,identified herson,M ichaelAlexanderBrow nasthesuspect,aswellasthevehicle

inwhichhefledlyiaphotographsobtained from agasstationjustprioretotheoffense. '
On Novem ber12,2019,said vehicle,inw hichthe fugitive fled,was located in Clarendon County,
SouthCarpltna,thusdenotingthattiefugitivehad IefttheW esternDistrictofVirginïaandfled in
interstatecomm erce sincethe com mission ofthe crime.
Information wasreceivbd by yourAffiantfrom m embersofthe FranklinCounty Sheriff'sOffice
and(A)ChiefDeputyU.S.MarshalMatthew S.Davis,acredible Iàw enforcementofficer.
Basel upon the aforementioned inform'
ation,yourAffiantbelievesprobable cause existsforthe
issuance ofawarrantunderYitle 18 United StatesCode 1073,UnlawfulFlightto Avoid Prosecution,in
thatthe targetofthe investigation iswanted on felony warrantsin Franklin County,Virginia,and has
fled to SouthCarolina,engaging in foreign orinterstate comm erce,to avoid prosecution in the
aforementioned case.Addi tionally,the suspectisan active duty M arine w ho hasabsented'himselffrom
liisunit,organization,andplaceofdutyatCampLejeune,NorthCarolina,withoutauthörityand haj
dem onstrated hisintentto remain awaytherefrom pefm anently,constituting the offense ofDesertion
inviolation of10 United StatesCode 886,also known asArticle 85 ofthe Uniform Code ofM ilitary
Justice,afederaloffense punishable by im prisonm entforgreaterthanone year.
