Dear Ms. Johnson,
I would like to submit my resume to be considered for the open
prekindergarten teaching position that you have open at Pruitt Elementary
School. I have worked for two years in a prekindergarten classroom as a
teaching assistant and prior to taking that position, I worked as a substitute
teacher in grades Prekindergarten through Third grade. I obtained my
paraprofessional certification in 2019. I will be completing all certification
exams and requirements this coming summer.
While it has been my goal to be a teacher since I was a small child myself,
I took several years away from my own education in order to start a family.
I have taken classes and worked on completing my degree while raising
my children and working full time in the classroom. I’m a wonderful
multitasker and pride myself on my ability to work closely with others. I
have spent the last two years working side by side with one of the most
amazing women I could have hoped to work with.
Although I have taken a nontraditional path to obtain my teaching
certification I have focused my attention into taking as many education and
early childhood education related classes as was available to me. I look
forward to continuing my education even further through professional
development courses.
I am somewhat of an introvert but I work hard at being friendly, open, and
outgoing. I enjoy making the classroom a fun, happy, uplifting
environment for students to learn in. I prefer to avoid conflict but will
address issues respectfully and appropriately if they arise. I love to be
able to express my personality and creativity and enjoy planning and
sharing creative learning experiences with my students. I look forward to
setting up a classroom of my own and welcoming my first class of young
learners.
