ASHOK LEYLAND working as Design Engineer in BUS BODY deputed from

VASSMANN ENGINEERING PVT LTD as an onsite Enigneer.

ASHOK LEYLAND worked as Product development in DRIVE TRAIN Clutch department under the control
of Layam flexible Solutions.

DESIGN ASSOCIATE JULY 2015 – DECEMBER 2016

Responsible for developing the new product and component for respective projects. Involved in product
and process design of components in buses and trucks.

Duties & Responsibility:

 Researching and developing ideas for new products and production systems.
 Using computer-aided design to create detailed designs and specifications.
 Supporting for proto build by unique parts follow ups, q u a l i t y clearance and close vehicle
sign-off issues.
 Detailing entire vehicle in 2D for coach builders.
 Analyzing the DFMEA for new product development.
 Preparation of Bill of materials.
 Enovia Plm release process.
 Improving the design, performance and efficiency of existing products.

 Vehicle level spec feasibility check in 3D model based on Stack up analysis, articulation, kinematic
and Homologation study.
 DMU Clash detection and Clash Analysis.
 Checking drawings for accuracy and errors.

Design of 15M COACH BUS BODY STRUCTURES.


 Design and model updating as per customer requirements.
 Design and Build a vehicle in chassis level with required aggregates based on marketing and
tender requirement with respect to Bus body.
 Bus body integration with chassis aggregates.
 Drafting and detailing with GD&T and Welding notes.
 Responsible for generation of Coach builder drawings with Vehicle level tolerances, bill
of materials Preparation, Data management and release process activities.
 Responsible for Entire vehicle and aggregates level DFA, DFM and DVVP.
 Analyze the vehicle field issues and apply corrective action as needed.
 DMU Clash detection and Clash Analysis.
 Providing spec feasibility check report with vehicle level DMU to lead designer and proto team.
 Responsible for vehicle BOM stage release in LEAP & ENOVIA.
 Proto build support and Pilot build support for working vehicles.

Design of PENDENT TYPE CLUTCH PEDAL BRACKET ASSEMBLY implementation in SCHOOL BUS

 New Clutch pedal development for the commercial bus build for school children.
 Design and detailing the Clutch pedal Brackets for fabrication.
 Concept package design of Pedal bracket with in the given ergonomic position.
 Clutch hydraulic routing packaging, clearance & articulation analysis with surrounding
aggregates in
 FES, Frame, Engine, Exhaust & gear box.
 Proto build support and conducting DVP testing of all pats in clutch, clutch actuation and
operating pedal unit assemblies.
 Visit the supplier plants for Quality inspection with quality team to check the parts are as per
Design specification.
 Release work for owned aggregates in ENVOIA & LEAP.

IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW FIXED PIVOT PIN in CLUTCH ACTUATION

DESCRIPTION:

 This project is the very new concept in ASHOK LEYLAND, The fixed pivot pin is used to eliminate
the
 STANDOUT settings in clutch actuator.
 We implemented this concept in all the variant of TRUCKS, BUSES, TRAILERS and TIPPERS.

FAILURE ANALYSIS OF CURRENT TRUCKS AND BUSES

DESCRIPTION:

 Implementation of Aluminum Clutch master cylinder instead of Cast iron for increasing the
corrosion resistance. This was implemented in all trucks and buses.
 Failure analysis of 330dia clutch fulcrum ring failure in ICV trucks.

DEVELOPMENT OF SINGLE IPU FOR ALL BUS AND TRUCKS

DESCRIPTION:

 Development of New Pedal unit combination for all Buses and trucks.

 Based on Different buses and trucks ergonomic position of pedal difference combined.

 Feasibility design and Package checking with surrounding aggregates for new IPU development.

 Packaging Data given to various supplier for manufacturing the Pedal assembly in a single unit.

 IPU will eliminate the Pedal travel, assembly time during the assembly
