of Drone". Retrieved from https://www.mdpi.com/2504-446X/3/1/17

This paper examines the potential use of fire extinguishing balls as part of a proposed system,
where drone and remote-sensing technologies are utilized cooperatively as a supplement to
traditional firefighting methods. The proposed system consists of scouting unmanned aircraft
system (UAS) to detect spot fires and monitor the risk of wildfire approaching a building, fence,
and/or firefighting crew via remote sensing, communication UAS to establish and extend the
communication channel between scouting UAS and fire-fighting UAS, and a fire-fighting UAS
autonomously traveling to the waypoints to drop fire extinguishing balls (environmental friendly,
heat activated suppressants).

does-drone-technology-work/

An unmanned aerial vehicle system has two parts, the drone itself and the control system (RC
System) also known as remote-person view (RPV). A radio control system is made up of two
elements, the transmitter you hold in your hands and the receiver you put inside your drone.
Dramatically simplifying things here, your drone transmitter will read your stick inputs and send
them through the air to your receiver in near real time. Once the receiver has this information it
passes it on to your drones flight controller which makes the drone move accordingly. A radio
will have four separate channels for each direction on the sticks along with some extra ones for
any auxiliary switches it may have. Most commonly it is used to pilot a radio-controlled aircraft
or other type of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The vehicle is either driven or piloted remotely
from a first-person perspective via an onboard camera, fed wirelessly to video FPV goggles or a
video monitor. More sophisticated setups include a pan-and-tilt gimbaled camera controlled by a
gyroscope sensor in the pilot's goggles and with dual onboard cameras, enabling a true
stereoscopic view.

We have to consider that there is a number of factors that affect the drone’s payload capacity.
The most important among them are the motor power, the size and number of propellers, type of
battery and the weight of the drone. One of the factors we need to keep in mind is that the
propeller thrust should be twice the total weight of the drone and the payload. Drones also need
to know how to deal with wind, air pressure and moisture in the air which can drastically
influence your drone. Drones that need a big lift requirement also needs a battery with a bigger
capacity, which also adds weight to the drone. Heavy lift drones beside extra weight that they
need to carry also need a strong and durable drone frame which is heavier than the standard
lightweight construction of the hobby drones.

Due to the nature of many businesses worldwide, the need for a heavy lift
quadcopter is fairly common. In just the arena of photography alone, UAVs that can
lift high payload items are sought after, as not every single element of modern
technology has yet been shrunk to the size (or weight) of loose change. Many of
the drones that have become very popular among pilots who are gleaning footage and
out there for recreation can carry anywhere from 2-4 lbs as a payload. Once you are
getting into the “heavy lift” category, you are by most standards looking at something
over 10 lbs. Some of the best consumer-level heavy lift drones carry above 40 lbs, and
Norwegian company Griff Aviation has recently introduced a drone that can carry
over 400 lbs!

Retrieved from https://etd.ohiolink.edu

Surveillance is the monitoring of activities or behavior of a certain environment, it

involves monitoring of mostly people. Cameras are the most common device used for
surveillance. Consider a high security building with several floors, sometimes the
number of floors can be in multiple of tens and each floor has several cameras. All
cameras of building are connected to multiple screens in security room. Security
office might have big and expensive screens with only limited number of security
officers to keep the track on the screen. Considering this building has lot of cameras
and sometimes the number of camera might even exceed by hundred, now it might be
little difficult for security officer to keep the track of all the screens connecting tens of
hundreds of cameras. Bigger the building more cameras it will have and accordingly
more number of expensive screens are required to view all videos.

7. Matthew Rossi. (2016). "Wireless Security Cameras with a WiFi Router".

Retrieved from https://www.cctvcameraworld.com/connect-wireless-security-camera-
to-wifi/ The first and extremely important step when considering a wireless security
camera system is understanding the limitations of wireless equipment. You can
purchase

expensive wireless equipment and still have poor signal due to interference or thick
walls. These issues can lead to an unreliable security system that drops cameras, or
appears to skip video.

from www.devex.com/news/in-the-philippines-drones-provide-humanitarian-relief-82512

For faster and more effective disaster relief and response, there’s a solution that “flies.” More
than a month after Super Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, operations on the ground remain in
the relief and response phase instead of rehabilitation and recovery, with several areas still
unreached by aid groups and comprehensive damage assessment still unfinished. To address
these needs, several NGOs on the ground in Tacloban, the “ground zero” of the catastrophe, have
been using unmanned aerial vehicles to further improve their operations — something they hope
would be a standard in disaster risk reduction efforts in the future. Quadcopters are controlled
remotely and use advanced technologies — including global positioning system, thermal
imaging and live video streaming — for better disaster assessment.

operations". Retrieved from https://www.thesummitexpress.com/2016/02/project-kwago-search-
and-rescue-drone.html

Drones are now being used in several applications such as security, disaster management,
wildlife conservation. In the Philippines, disasters such as flood and earthquakes are often
occurring. A group of Filipino researchers developed a search and rescue drone called Project
Kwago. The project name came from the Filipino term of “owl”. Owls have capabilities of
hunting especially during night time. The group is composed of Mac Eugenio, Ari Trofeo, and
Vince Villena. The group aims to help boost the search and rescue operations during calamities.
Project Kwago also aims to provide more features in search and rescue drones used in the
Philippines.
