Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing with great honor to apply for the full-time investment banking analyst position at Credit Suisse. Rated as
the Best Global Bank in 2010 by Euromoney, Credit Suisse distinctively integrates its investment banking, private
banking and asset management functions to deliver customized quality solutions to its clients. Majoring in Global
Business Studies and Quantitative Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, I sincerely look forward to
contributing to its success.

Throughout my undergraduate studies I have endeavored to equip myself with sound financial knowledge by studying
subjects including capital markets, corporate finance and fixed income, and have enjoyed outstanding performance in
all these classes. Outside school, I have further completed a rigorous finance curriculum. Through my pursuit of
credentials including Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and Chartered Enterprise
Risk Analyst, I have acquired acute understanding of the financial market and strong numerical skills that enable me to
understand the technicalities in company financing and conduct financial modeling and valuation effectively. More
importantly, it is my self-driven character underpinning all these qualifications that allows me to learn the most from
senior bankers and make a difference working at Credit Suisse.

In the past two years, I have gained very extensive international exposure by spending half year each in Denmark and
the United States to study global business issues with forty-four top business students from seven countries. The exotic
experience of collaborating with my foreign peers has transformed me into a good team-player with profound
interpersonal skills. Besides, I also joined study trips to eight major international cities including Shanghai, Tokyo and
New York to earn valuable insights into various industries across continents. These experiences have broadened my
horizons and shaped me into an open-minded individual who is able to understand the financial needs of individual
clients and generate tailored solutions for them.

This summer I interned in J.P. Morgan Equities Derivatives Group Middle Office, where I conducted a review over its
existing operations control systems and helped the group consolidate all control information by 30%. I also supported
trade reconciliation, investigated pricing issues of structured products with Bloomberg and coordinated setup of new
desks. Not only have these duties fostered my attention to details, but they have also enhanced my ability to process
complex information from multiple aspects together. The senior management also gave me compliments as a highly
focused and resilient individual who could learn very quickly and adapt to an ever-changing environment, which would
render me a suitable applicant for the investment banking position.

I am confident that the combination of my experience, education and motivation to excel has prepared me well to rise to
challenges and add value to Credit Suisse. I would very much appreciate it if we could meet soon to further discuss how
