by the time we exit beta and expect to add support for some cards during the beta.
Cable Requirements

Oculus Link requires a high-quality USB-3 cable. We'll be releasing our

optimized Oculus Link cable later this year, but if you want to try out Oculus
Link during the beta period, we'd recommend looking for a high-quality USB C
to C or USB A to C cable with proven performance. While quality can vary
across cables, our team has tested the Anker cable with good results.

Keep in mind, the charging cable that came with your Quest won't work with
the Oculus Link software. The charging cable is USB-2, while Oculus Link
requires a USB-3 Gen 1 or Gen 2 cable with a C connector that can support
both power and data.

Software Requirements

To use Oculus Link, you'll need to download the Oculus PC app if you haven't
already. Once you've downloaded the PC app, make sure that it’s on the
latest software version, and that your Quest is running the latest operating
system to ensure compatibility.

If you'd like to use Oculus Link to connect your Quest to a PC, please
start by reviewing our Oculus Link compatibility article.

You'll need to confirm the following:

● That your PC meets the recommended specs from the compatibility article above.
● That you're using a high-quality USB 3.0 cable capable of supporting data and power.
● That your Oculus software is up to date on both your PC and your Quest.
● To check the version number for the Oculus PC app:
1. Open the app on your computer.
2. Click Settings from the left side of your screen
3. Click General from the settings options at the top of your screen.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the section to see your OS version. To use Oculus Link, the
number must be at least 1.44 or higher.
● To check the version number for your Quest:
1. Turn on your Quest.
2. From the bottom tool bar select Settings then See All.
3. Select About from the left side of the settings panel. Next to Version the number
must be at least 11.00 or higher.
Beta Availability
The Oculus Link Beta is dependent on updates to the software versions listed above. Once the updates are
released to all customers, we’ll begin rolling out the remote rendering feature enabled by Oculus Link.
During this time, you may need to restart your headset in order to gain access to the feature.

Once you've confirmed the above requirements, you can begin using your Quest with
Link. To do this:
1/ Open the Oculus app on your PC.
2/ Turn on your Quest.
3/ Plug your USB3 3 cable into a USB 3.0 port on your PC, then plug the other end into your headset.
4/ You should be prompted with 'Allow access to data', select Deny.
5/ Next, you'll be prompted to Enable Oculus Link (beta), select Enable to begin remote rendering via
Oculus Link.
