DEKS new Evap Flashing makes flashing evaporative cooling units easier than ever before.
It gives metal droppers a water tight seal when penetrating through corrugated iron or tiled roofs.

The aluminium base of the tile roof version is available in 4 colours - Slate Grey, Tuscan Red,
Caulfield Green or Plain Aluminium. Plain Aluminium can be painted to suit your roof colour.
The corrugated iron version is available in black only.

Fits both 80/100mm grates

How to fit:
1. If fitting into an 80mm grate, trim cone to the 80mm mark with sharp scissors or Stanley knife. For 100mm
grates, simply fit product into waste grate without trimming.

2. Lift grate lid and insert Dekfit GrateMate so that it sits just below the top of the grate. Where there is an
internal grate, fit the Dekfit GrateMate below ther level of the grate.

3. Remove Dekfit GrateMate and check water mark on the poly pipe to ensure that at least 50mm of the
pipe is sitting in the water in the ‘S’ trap *.

4. Replace Dekfit GrateMate and fit grate back into place. †

* If no water mark is visable, the waste pipe is probably longer than usual and the longer poly pipe will be needed to improve sound reduction. Measure from
grate to below water level to determine length of pipe required. (20mm ID diam. pvc or poly pipe is available at plumbing and hardware stores).

† If the Dekfit GrateMate is sitting too high to allow the grate to be replaced properly, simply trim the poly pipe so that at least 50mm sits in the water in the ‘S’
trap.

 Installation Instructions for Solar Flashings

Fit the acrylic lead or Aluminum apron in the same way as a conventional
lead sheet. The area where the tiles have been cut or moved should be
completely covered. It will normally be inserted under the tiles above the
penetration and dressed over the adjoining tiles as shown right.
Cables should be passed through the flashing as follows:
1. Check exact outside diameter of the cables.
2. Cut the nipples as indicated for 4-6mm or 6-8mm cables. Use tin snips or
scissors ensuring that the cut is straight and parrallel to give a tight fit to
the cable. DO NOT pierce the cable nipple with a craft knife or other
pointed implement.
3. Pass cables through using water as a lubricant if needed.

Pipes should be passed through the flashing as follows:

1. Cut the cone with tin snips or scissors where indicated for the relevant pipe size.
2. Pipes should be passed through the flashing using water as a lubricant.

For Metal roofs

1. Cut the Dektite ® cone and/or cable nipple to the relevant size and pass
cable and/or pipes through using water as a lubricant.
2. Apply neutral cure silicone sealant on the underside of the flange.
3. Press flashing into the contours of the roof panel.
4. Fasten flashing to surface with self drilling screws.

Universal Solution
Dektite Flashing Adhesive is a one part neutral cure (no acid) engineering grade Silicone
Adhesive with primerless adhesive to most substrates and is formulated to adhere Dektite
Silicone Flashings to these substrates including Tiles and Slate. The adhesive reacts with
atmospheric moisture to produce a long life silicone rubber joint that is resistant to UV and will
remain permanently flexible and withstands temperatures from -50°C to +165°C
