Q3. Do any THREE
i. A differential manometer connected at the two points A and B in a pipe containing an oil of
specific gravity 0.8 shows a difference in mercury levels as 15mm. Determine the difference in
pressure at two points in terms of head of water.
ii. Water is flowing through a non uniform pipe gradually tapering from 0.15m diameter to 0.08
diameter. If the average velocity of water at section 0.15m diameter is found to be equel to
1.5m/s, find out the discharge in litre per second and also the velocity of flow at 0.08m diameter
section?
iii. Give applications of Bernoulli’s theorem.
iv. Explain the working of Hydraulic Press.
v. Explain the construction and working of a Francis turbine with the help of a sketch.
