CHARACTERISTIC LITERATURE IN RENAISSANCE
PERIOD
• The main characteristic of reinassance English literature is that it was influenced
by the ideas of the renaissance related to art, religion and politics. It was also
heavily influenced by classic greek and roman literature and ideas.
• The famous example of English renaissance literature is Shakespeare.
Shakespeare influenced by greek tragedy, and wrote about historical and social
issues. His poetry centered on the aesthetic.
• The poets of English renaissance focused on exploring religious and social ideas
that their counterparts explored in art.
• Another important characteristic of English reinassance literature is humanism, or
an optimistic outlook on humanity. Up until then, the more religiously dominated
texts had a dimmer view of humans and their potential.
REFORMATION PERIOD (16th and 17th century )

discovery; it both claims possession and is obliged to recognize distinctions, differences,
individualities.

A brief story of A Midsummer Night's Dream


• The story is reflected about acrimonious and threatening disputes of Oberon and Titania.
• This story begins with a couple from Athens, Hermia and Lysander who are forbidden to
get married.
• Demetrius, as a man who was betrothed by Hermia, tried to chase Hermia. Helena, as an
ex of Lysander was infatuated with Demetrius.
• The fairy king and queen, Oberon and Titania also interfere in this problem.
• In the briefly, Oberon use a magic potion that make Demetrius and Lysander fall in love
with Helena.
• In the end of the story, Lysander love Hermia again, and Demetrius love Helena again.
• It ends with multiple marriages celebrated to the accompaniment and with the blessing
of the once disruptive fairies.
