DAW/mixing desk
Daw is a digital audio workstation. It is a hardware practical
that mixes different sounds and makes sound affects.

Logic- we use It to edit sound. It works on both mac and pcs.

Daw are digital products they only edit but not in analogue.
There is a license of 3£ a month, daw have a user-friendly
interface. Interface mimics a mixing desk logic can be used from
beginners to professional.
A mixing desk takes up the whole room. Large pieces of equipment
they don’t move. If the mixing desk is in the room, it must be
soundproof and aircon. Mixing desk can be both digital and
analogue. They are only sed by professionals.
A mixing desk mimics and edits sound. A mimics is a mixing desk.
A master computer separates slides and channels. Daws has been
around for 20 years and mixing des has been around for 100
years.
CUT

We cut audio to get rid of waste. hard cut is the basic type of
cut in editing. The hard cut is the basic type of cut in
editing. This type of cut is utilized when you want to cut from
clip to clip without any type of transition, or where you cut
from the end of one clip to the beginning of another. The only
down side of the hard cut is that (out of all the cuts we’ll
talk about) this one gives the least amount of visual meaning.
The jump cut is a technique which allows the editor to jump
forward in time, The jump cut is a technique which allows the
editor to jump forward in time.

JOIN
We join two separate sound files by cross fading. If we don’t
cross fade we get a harsh/ immediate jump between level tones.
Once you cross fade the sounds will combine together.
Cut and paste
The benefits of this is that you can have the same sound at
once.
If you copy and paste something you can listen to it before
after you edit the sound.
Limitations of this is that you can paste the wrong thing / copy
and this uses a lot of channels making the working desk look
messy.

Stereo field
This is the prosected area of the sound , where you can hear
the music . You can push the sound around the room / you can
control the movement of the sound. We use a stereo field to
to naturalise affects. Limiataions for this is that you will
need more than one speaker.

Stereo is sound made from two speakers. sounds natural and

makes you feel like you are in the place. It needs mixing.
Soundbite are small sections from a larger recordings of sound,
limations are that they can be misunderstood and representive.
Automation it is the same an eq bu it now control over the
selection over the mid/ high and low frequences. There are only
digital animations and no analouge. On logic it is found in the
login section.
Colour coding to differienate quickly between different sound
files and sound sources.
Clipping , when you marker on a sourcefile, you can colour code
your marks e.g keywordds , muisc , key chnages something
significant changes.
EQ
We have control over the Eq , An eq digitally edits sound.
It reduces the high frequently and low frequencies. In analouge
mixing desk is a hard piece of software.
