While the Israeli kibbutz has been idealized as a paragon of utopian
movements, Sweet Mud tells a darker, more nuanced tale of a community
ill equipped to cope with individuality and deviations from a rigidly defined
norm, and of an adolescent boy stretching to compensate for what the

A radio broadcaster who offers romantic advice to her single, female callers
decides to take her own advice, and proposes marriage on live radio to her
boyfriend Yonatan. To Cheftzi's surprise, her theories don't work in practice
and her world begins to collapse.

On a poorly lit rundown soccer field at the edge of the Gaza strip, a group
of Israelis and Palestinians are engaged in combat. They battle, not with
gun, rocket or bomb, but with the Sherrin - a torpedo shaped red leather
football. This film takes us on an amazing journey – from Israel to Australia,
from hopelessness to hopefulness, from hostility to harmony! Must see!!

Ido is a talented 19 year old musician, the Charismatic leader of a
punk rock band, who becomes devoutly religious. The film follows
him over a year, and those around him, as all reconcile with the
emerging Ido who is a vastly different from the boy he was.

In the dead of night somewhere along the Israeli border near the Dead Sea, ex-cop Franco
rounds up a group of female illegal immigrants to be sold as hookers and domestics by
his unscrupulous current employer, local gangster Boss; and so begins the web of many Cinema
relationships. Inevitably, the paths of these human chess pieces cross, illustrating the pitfalls
of a changing world and its deceptive surface of beauty.

At times wickedly funny, at others poignantly human, "the film is a low-key chronicle of a
group of Jerusalem oldsters who every week carry plastic lawn chairs to the Mount Herzl

cemetery to discuss poetry, philosophy, the world situation and eat lunch. Against this

humorous backdrop, the director candidly explores the close ties between two elderly ladies
who survived the Polish ghetto and Auschwitz. This audience enchanter has enjoyed success
at screenings worldwide.
