ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS
Steel Construction
It is used in designing and
building industrial spaces.
Structural steel has a high strength
to weight ratio which makes it ideal
to use in the construction of large
structures such as buildings,
warehouses, bridges, factories etc.
Board Pile
Also known as,
replacement piles are a
commonly used form of
building foundation that
provide support for
structures, transferring
their load to layers of
soil or rock that have
sufficient bearing
capacity and suitable
settlement
characteristics.
6.2 Electrical Systems
Solar PV rain screen cladding provides great insulation for buildings. The
double-façade allows buildings to generate their electricity. In fact, the great
innovation developed by Onyx Solar is that they add photovoltaic properties to this
cladding allowing it to also generate electricity free of cost.
Solar Panels
Solar panels allow us to
generate electricity which we can
then use in a variety of ways. This
process can take place on either a
domestic or industrial scale. On an
industrial scale, we can use solar
panels to provide electricity for the
masses. In this case, engineers
install a large solar array which
forms a solar power station.
Agora Solar Trees
The Agora Solar Trees are functional sculpture. They produce 4kWh of renewable
solar energy from the bi-facial photo-voltaic panels. The Trees have 4 free charging stations
for personal mobile devices per tree.
Kinetic footfall is a new source of electricity, which capture the energy from
human footfall to generate electrical energy. The energy harvested by the pavegen tile can
immediately power off-grid apications such as pedestrian lighting, way-finding solutions and
signage.
6.3 Mechanical Systems
Elevator
An escalator is a power-
driven, continuous moving
stairway designed to transport
passengers up and down short
vertical distances. Escalator are
used around the world to move
pedestrian traffic in places where
elevators would be impractical.
Hydraulic Lift
The proposed development is
consisted of 2-3 storey building
which will require an elevator.
An elevator is a platform or
compartment housed in a shaft for
raising and lowering people or
things to different floors or levels.
Hydraulic
elevators are elevators which are
powered by a piston that travels
inside a cylinder. An electric motor
pumps hydraulic oil into the
cylinder to move the piston. The
piston
smoothly lifts the elevator cab. Electrical valves control the release of the oil for a gentle
descent
A travelator is a slow-moving conveyor mechanism that transports people
across a horizontal or inclined plane over a short to medium distance. Moving
walkways can be used by standing or walking on them. They are often installed in
pairs, one for each direction.
6.4 Fire- fighting Systems
Fire Sprinklers
6.5 Sanitary Systems
6.5.1 Water Supply
Septic tank will not be neeeded, waste water from the prposal will be collected
through a series of sewer lines which leads towards the waste water treatment plant of
Mariveles.
Bioswales
Bioswales
Bioswales are an
aesthetically-pleasing Bioswales usually
Green Roof
Green roofs
serve several purposes
for a building, such
as absorbing rainwater,
providing insulation,
creating a habitat for
wildlife, increasing
benevolence and
decreasing stress of the people around the roof by providing a more aesthetically pleasing
landscape, and helping to lower urban air temperatures and mitigate the heat island effect.
They effectively utilize the natural functions of plants to filter water and treat air in urban and
suburban landscapes
Trees
Provide cooling shade, buffers , absorb pollutants gasses, and filter fine
particulates such as dust, dirt or smoke out of the air.
Green Wall
Reduces urban heat island effect and smog. Cleans outside air of pollutants and
dust and offsets the carbon footprint of people and fuel emissions. Cleans interior air space
by removing VOCs and other harmful toxins like benzene and formaldehyde. Acts as a
sound proofing barrier.
6.7.2 Accessibility
