SNOWFLAKE LESSON TYPES

Students place items in a sequential order; well suited for events


in a story, timeline events, steps of a math problem, etc.

Students are provided a question, problem, or challenge that


appears at the top of the screen, and then select the correct
responses by tapping the corresponding bugs. Cards on the back of
the bugs can display text, image and text, image only, or video.

Digital flashcards. Each 2-sided card can have text, photo, video,
and/or audio content on both sides. The cards can be presented in
an order, random order, in "flipped", where the responses are
flipped to appear first. Can be used for review, self-evaluation,
digital storytelling, paired learning activities, and presentations
that incorporate student digital media content.

Supports interactive exploring, previewing, and reviewing a wide


range of concepts that require classification, categorization, or
sequencing. Items on the screen are matched up to target items in
the center of the screen. The cards displayed in the ring can display
images, text, or both.

Designed for up to four students to support previewing and


reviewing subject matter content and facts. Can be used to
support vocabulary fluency, classification, and categorization skills.
For each round, a set of cards are randomly distributed on the
screen. Within a specific time-limit, students drag the correct card
to a digital tray located at the edge of the screen.

Provides a way to create measurement lessons for students of


varying age and skill levels. Use as a whole group activity, or
individual student activity. This lesson type has a built-in method
of checking responses without requiring the teacher to supply
answers during lesson creation.

correspond with content related to the topics they are studying.
Students are presented with a row of blank spaces, with a letter
bank below. Students tap the correct letters, and if correct, the
letter or letters that correspond to the word appear. For each
incorrect response, a heart symbol is lost.

Provides a way for students to demonstrate understanding of


concepts by matching picture, symbol, or word cards to text. This
application supports self-correction. The Match lesson supports
multiple rounds of play, and each round can be titled according to
topic.

Provides a way for students to review and remember facts, figures


and points learned. This lesson type helps in reinstating the
concepts learned in the subject.

Provides a way for students to preview and review content-based


vocabulary. Teachers can set up word searches that align with
curriculum objectives. Students identify words that are placed in
different orders on grid. Two or more students can interact with
the content at the same time on multi-touch displays.

Provides teachers a way to create and experiment with seating


arrangements. It also provides a way to manage and track
classroom discussions. It can be used as a visual cue on a front-of-
class display. Seats lesson can also be used to support learning of
basic math facts. Instead of student names, the teacher enters
problems for the students to solve. Students respond to the
problems by swiping the numbers and increase their score with
the correct answer.
Provides a way to support understanding of compound words,
sentence structure, parts of speech, and phrases. It also is a way to
preview or review key concepts related to an instructional unit.
The teacher or students can arrange words to form sentences and
phrases.

A great activity to encourage conversation and classroom


discussion, presenting essential questions for a given topic,
grouping or selecting students for activities or learning centers.
The Spinner lesson template presents a wheel that contain text,
images, or text + images on a spinner. Audio can be added to the
spinner, and will activate when the spinner stops.

Provides students the ability to identify and label items in a


diagram or image. It is good for previewing and reviewing
information in a visual way. It can support teaching and learning of
subject-matter vocabulary concepts.

Provides students with rows of words that can be used to explore


letter-word and phonetic concepts during whole-group and small
