The Radley Place

In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses a great deal of descriptive

language. Throughout the first section of the novel, there are many
places where the Radley place is described in detail.

The Assignment:

Using descriptive passages from the novel, draw the Radley place in
detail. You will find descriptions of the house on the following pages:
8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 33, 52, and 53.

Requirements:
• Create a detailed COLOURED drawing of the Radley house and
yard.
• Include 15 quotes from the novel that describe various aspects of
the house and yard. You may put the quotes on the back of your
drawing, on a separate sheet, or creatively incorporate them into
your illustration.
• This is an individual assignment.
