Introduction

Transportation plays an integral part in our everyday life. Jeepneys have become the
primary transportation on land since buses cannot travel in smaller areas. Filipino commuters
prefer to ride on a jeepney because of its affordable for fair fee.

However, transportation also has its negative effects especially to the commuters who
rely so much in it. Traffic congestion is one of the most prevalent challenges that transportation
has brought to people. It causes to increase the demand for transport infrastructures.

In particular, commuters on the Manila S Rd in front of Starmall Alabang to Spectrum

Midway Extension experience a hard time to ride on a jeepney. People were just scattered in the
specific area, waiting for their chance to ride despite of the numerous commuters within the area.

In contrast, it was stated on the report of PHILKOTSE.COM published last September 6,

2018, that Obstructions is one of the Top 10 Most Common Traffic Violations in the Philippines.
Obstruction is the act of blocking the free passage of other motor vehicles on highways whilst
unloading freights and taking or discharging passengers. This act also includes the act of driving
vehicle in such a way that it impedes or obstruct the passage of another motor vehicle.
Furthermore, this act results into a battle between the traffic that most of the commuters is going
through daily in Muntinlupa, especially in Alabang. Alabang is known as a lively business
district and transport hub, with stations for commuters. Hence, it is not new for these commuters
to struggle everyday and deal with the traffic together with the difficulty on getting a ride.

In relation with this problem, the researchers came up with an idea of constructing proper
unloading and loading stations along the said area. Within this idea lies the hope of the
researchers in creating effective alternative policies that would make the area they chose, a place
with order and peace for the people. The researchers believe that this would help the
muntinlupeño commuters to have a more efficient commuting experience.
