SRI SIDDARTHA INSTIUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, TUMAKURU, under our
supervision and guidance and submitted in partial fulfillment for the V Semester BE, DBMS
Mini-project by SSIT,CS department during the academic year of 2019 – 2020. It is certified

ABSTRACT
This project deals with the ‘Movie Information Management System’. The system is
used for daily activities such as adding a movie, search a movie , actors in the movie,
directors in the movie, rating of a movie and etc.
This project deals with the problems on managing a movie information database and avoids
the problems which occur when movie information databases are managed manually.
Identification of the drawbacks of the existing system leads to the designing of computerized
system which will be compatible to the existing environment and more user-friendly.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
In modern age, as time increase, needs & requirements of the person are also increased.
They want more facility & try to do their task quickly & within time. But they can not get all the
things at nearest market or area, so they have to import the things from any place in the world.
Within the country, the things can be imported through post service. But it consumes the
time & sometimes problem of damage or missing occur. Where as in the international market, the
one way is shipping. But it also requires more time.
The courier service is one of the solutions of these problems. It is used to send some
things to any person in the world within time.
The courier company has number of branches, which are spread over the country or the
world. So that when person wants to send things then he has to contact at nearest courier
service branch. The courier company creates the schedule & gives internal/external services.
The courier service work as destination office or source office. The source office branch receives
the order means consignments & sends it to the destination courier branch. The company has
certain rules according to the weight.
Using the courier service person can easily send his/her parcel to other person in the
particular destination within the time. Now days, 50% of companies of the world uses the
services of various courier company.
The project is entitled “The Courier Management System”,category “DBMS”. Hence before
discussing any thing about the project The Courier Management System, a brief disscussion of
related basic concept is necessary.As a software developer or as a programmer,we are expected to
design and develop any program that works correctly, efficiently and the time is easy to be used by
every person, who may or may not be well versed with computer and its capabilities.
The Project is based on the The Courier Management System, Being the Information System
it requires extensive use of some Data base Management System to store, manipulate and handle the
huge and complex record, In DBMS we can act various attributes with the database like editing the
records, Modifications Deletions of the records, View the records in various formats, listing the
database etc. Project can be categorized by their functioning and relation with their database and
other tools can categorize project. Since this project has been developed based on the Data Base
Management System So Proposed system comes under DBMS (Database Management System)
category, as there is need to store and manipulate a huge amount of data related to patients as per
various queries.
CHAPTER 2
SYSTEM ANALYSIS
The existing system is not totally automated. Though the system is computerized to a
The present project has been developed to meet the aspirations indicated in the modern age. An
attempt has been made through this project to do all work ease & fast. It provide current add, Update,
MoveNext, MovePrevious, MoveLast, Find & Delete all facilities to accomplish the desired objectives.
The facility Include in this project and the suggested activities have been organized to impart
knowledge & develop skill & attitude in the College official works.
The goal of the system is to tackle these problems in an effective and optimal manner
by:
Centralizing the database and thus providing consistent data to all the office
employees in the office.
Make the System more user friendly by providing an intensive user interface.
Easy access through queries and reports.
Restricted data access to employees thus providing additional security to data.

5.1Modules description
• Update:
Update will help us to edit the tables in the database.If we have to update the
Information of any table we use this table.In this project we have option of update to
all tables for only admin login and not for user.

•Delete:
Delete will help us to remove or delete a row/tuple of a table.In this project we
have given option to all tables.In tables we delete the information by giving/inputing
the primary key value.

Home page helps us to enter the all pages. We can select the any page like
Hostel Selection: To view and insert hostel details.

Room Selection: To allocate a room for student.
Bill Generation: To generate a bill.

In this screen we enter the details and register the student .and we can view the
student details. We can delete and update the student details. When we click on submit
button. We can enter into fig 6.5.

CONCLUSION
This project is developed using HTML PHP and XAMPP SERVER which is based on
the requirements of the user and the analysis of the existing system, with flexibility for future
enhancement.
Thisproject is used for managing the various activities in the hostel. It can manage the
hostel information, studentinformation,room information, room allocation details, fee details,
mess bill detailsand employee details of the hostel. It is also used to generate reports of
student details, fee details and mess bill details . .It can also keep track of the availability of
rooms, number of students in the hostel, number of rooms in the hostel. The main purpose of
this project is to manage the details of beds, hostel, rooms and rent. It manages all the
information about beds, payments, rent ,beds.It tracks all the details about rooms,rent.
