Course Description
This course consists of lectures, demonstrations, laboratory exercises, and question and answer
sessions designed to educate the student in the module-based system configuration tool of AD
Suite.

Duration
5 days

Objectives/Outcomes
Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to exhibit the ability to:
o Create new projects through AD Suite
o Explain the architecture of AD Suite and AD Server
o Create and utilize Class, Classless, and Application Modules
o Mass Import I/O Lists and Configurations
o Utilize the History and Change Management Package
o Utilize the Document Generation feature
o Backup and Restore AD Suite project

Intended Audience
All plant personnel whom are responsible for the configuration and/or maintenance of a CENTUM
VP system that utilizes module based engineering.

Course Prerequisites
Student must have attended CENTUM VP Engineering

Technical Requirements
o Knowledge of System View based engineering
o Basic file/folder manipulation in a Windows environment

Materials
Each learner will be provided with the appropriate course workbook.

Evaluation Methods
o Laboratory exercises
o Question and answer sessions

Requirements to Be Awarded Certification


o Submit completed course Registration Form
o Fulfill financial obligations
o Fulfill the 90% attendance requirement by signing-in each day of facilitated course
o Fulfill the 70% or above overall scoring requirement on labs and projects

Day 1:
o Familiarize the concepts of AD Suite
o Understand the Engineering Methods the AD Suite Provides
o Define what is AD Server and System
o Create and Register VP and AD Project
o Create and Import Process I/O List
o Define IOM
o Create Grid Rules
o Exercises

Day 2:
o Create Class Module
o Import Class Module
o Create Application Module by instantiation
o Create Class and Application Module using Sequence Table, Logic Chart, General
purpose Calculation Block, SFC
o Exercises

Day 3:
o Define Reference Tags, Common Switch, Annunciator and Operator Guide Messages
o Understand the concept of Change Management in AD Suite
o Create ModPack
o Implement the change request in the ModPack
o Create Document using the Document Generation function of AD Suite
o Exercises

Day 4:
o Download the VP Project to FCS and HIS
o Perform Tuning Parameter Save
o Perform backup and restore of ADMDB
o Exercises
o Course Project
