Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 47,780 – Ksh. 82,330 p.m. (Grade CSG 8)
(i) a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (M.B; Ch.B.) degree from a
university recognized in Kenya;
(ii) successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution; and
(iii) been registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

(iii) instituting legal proceedings in cases of contraventions of the Occupational Safety
and Health Act and Work Injury Benefits Act;
(iv) monitoring, evaluating and controlling of environmental hazards in the
workplaces;
(v) processing of application for registration of work places and employers under
Occupational Safety and Health Act and Work Injury Benefits Act respectively and
processing of work injury benefits claims;
(vi) carrying out medical examinations;
(vii) documenting the presence and use of first aid services and occupational health in
the workplace, manning occupational health clinics;
(viii) carrying out counseling services on basic occupational health issues;
(ix) carrying out Research on Occupational Safety, Health and Hygiene;
(x) developing and maintaining Occupational Safety and Health information for
dissemination; and
(xi) participating in setting Occupational Safety and Health standards for control of
accidents, dangerous occurrences and ill health.
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 37,070 – 49,950 p.m. (Grade CSG 10)
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under
the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities shall include;
(i) compiling information on safety and health hazards;
(ii) maintaining statistics on accidents, dangerous occurrences and occupational
diseases;

(iii) processing applications for registration of work places and employers under
Occupational Safety and Health Act and Work Injury Benefits Act respectively;
(iv) processing work injury benefits claims;
(v) preparing workers for medical examination;
(vi) documenting the presence and use of first aid services and occupational health
in the work place;
(vii) carrying out counseling services on basic occupational health issues; and
(viii) training on occupational safety and health.
(ix) monitoring, evaluating and controlling of environmental hazards in the
workplaces;
(x) monitoring, evaluating and controlling of environmental hazards in the
workplaces;
(xi) carrying out inspections on Industrial Plants, Machinery, Electrical Installations,
building construction and works on construction; and
(xii) recommending approval of architectural plans for new, extensions or
modifications of workplaces covered by Occupational Safety and Health Act;

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work
under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will
include:-
(i) decontaminating working benches;
(ii) receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens for accuracy;
(iii) preparing clients for collection of specimens;
(iv) receiving, collecting, labeling and registering specimens;

(v) disaggregating specimens for processing and analysis; and
(vi) performing routine diagnostic tests.

Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under
the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
i. conducting behavioral, electroacoustic and electrophysiological measures on
hearing and balance;
ii. undertaking hearing aid selection, fitting and evaluation;
iii. taking ear impressions;
iv. conducting clinical vestibular assessment and interpreting results;
v. educating clients on the use, care and maintenance of hearing aids and accessories;
vi. carrying out vestibular rehabilitation for patients with hearing and imbalance
disorders; and
vii. collecting and compiling audio logical data.
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 30,170– Ksh. 40,060 p.m. (Grade CSG 11)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the
following disciplines: Human Resource Management/Planning/Development, Business

LABOUR INSPECTOR III – FORTY FOUR (44) POSTS - V/NO. 184/2019
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 24,580 – Ksh. 32,760 p.m. (Grade CSG 12)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a diploma in any of the following
disciplines:- Human Resource Management/Planning/Development, Law, Business
Administration, Psychology, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations or any other
equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work
under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will
include:-
(i) visiting places of employment for inspection of wages and terms and
conditions of employment to ensure compliance with labour laws and
regulations; and
(ii) collecting labour market information.
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 30,170 – Ksh. 40,060 P.M. (Grade CSG 11)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the
following fields:- Human Resource Management/Planning/ Development, Business
Administration, Economics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Demography or Sociology, or
equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya.
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work
under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will
include:-
(i) data collection, compilation, processing, tabulation, evaluation, analysis;
(ii) preparation of preliminary reports; and
(iii) simple coding of information and developing statistical summaries.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the
following fields: Human Resource Management/Planning/Development, Statistics,
Sociology, Business Administration, Applied Statistics, Demography, Education,
Population Studies, Labour Studies, Information Technology, or any other relevant and
equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work
under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer where duties and responsibilities
will entail collecting, compiling, and tabulating initial human resource planning data
for report writing.
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 30,170 – Ksh. 40,060 P.M. (Grade CSG 11)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following fields- Human Resource Management/Planning/Development, Law, Business
Administration, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Statistics, Labour
Relations, or Industrial Relations or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from
a university recognized in Kenya.
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work
under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will
include:-
(i) collecting and compiling, labour market information and employment related
issues;
(ii) advocating for vacancies from employers and placement of jobseekers; and
(iii) preparing simple monthly, quarterly and annual reports on employment/labour
market trends.

Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 24,580 – Ksh. 32,760 P.M. (Grade CSG 12)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the following
disciplines- Human Resource Management/Planning/Development, Law, Business
Administration, Psychology, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations or any other equivalent
and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work
under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will
include:-
(i) registering jobseekers; and
(ii) collecting employment related data from employers for analysis.

STATE DEPARTMENT FOR SOCIAL PROTECTION
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 24,580 – Ksh. 32,760 p.m. (Grade CSG 12)
This is an entry grade for this cadre. An officer in this grade will be required to work
under the supervision and guidance of a more experienced officer. Duties and
responsibilities shall include:-
(i) performing a wide variety of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) interpretation in a
variety of settings which includes all departments, staff meetings, field trips,
workshops, trainings, seminars, conferences, and events, and other
organizational settings;
(ii) obtaining and reviewing the material containing the information to be
interpreted and conduct research on technical information or complex
information to gain an understanding of what will be interpreted;
(iii) promoting direct communication between the Deaf, Deaf blind, Hard of hearing
and others;
(iv) interpreting sign to voice in the manner in which the expression is presented;
(v) maintaining confidentiality as required by State Department and the Sign
Language Interpreter code of conduct;
(vi) anticipating needs and assisting in arranging an accessible environment prior
to special events;
(vii) maintaining sensitivity and respect for cultural and linguistic differences
observed in the Deaf, Deaf-Blind and hard of hearing communities; and
(viii) maintaining confidentiality in all interpretation settings and safeguards
confidential files on sign language interpreter teams’ issues.

DIRECTOR, SOCIAL REHABILITATION- ONE (1) POST.V/NO. 192/2019
Basic Salary Scale: KShs.132, 000 - KShs.195, 410 p.m. (Grade CSG 5)
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Secretary, Social Rehabilitation for
effective administration and management of Social Rehabilitation Function. Duties and
responsibilities at this level will entail:-
(i) formulating and coordinating implementation and review of social rehabilitation
policies, strategies, guidelines, procedures and programmes;
(ii) collaborating and cooperating with communities nationally, regionally and
internationally on street families rehabilitation;
(iii) advocating and lobbying street family rehabilitation matters at national, regional
and international fora;
(iv) overseeing development of capacity building programmes for partner
institutions; monitoring implementation of the framework for quality assurance;
(v) coordinating for psycho-social support programmes at rehabilitation centers;
(vi) approving funding for street families partner institutions; mobilizing resources
for street families rehabilitation programmes;

(vii) coordinating rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of street families;
(viii) coordinating the provision of vocational and life skills for the street families; and
(ix) development, implementation and realization of the Department’s strategic plans
and objectives.
(i) served for a minimum period of fifteen (15) years, three (3) of which must have
been in the grade of Assistant Director, Social Rehabilitation, CSG 7 or in a
comparable and relevant position in the wider public service;
(ii) a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:- Sociology, Social Work,
Social Psychology, Gerontology, Education, Anthropology, Community
Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Rehabilitation
Studies, Counseling, Economics, Gender Studies or equivalent qualifications
from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) a Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Social Work, Psychology,
Gerontology, Education, Anthropology, Counseling, Demography/Population
Studies, Economics, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Community
Development, Project Planning, Policy Studies or equivalent qualifications from
a university recognized in Kenya;
(iv) certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than
six (6) weeks from a recognized institution; and
(v) demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

(v) advocating and lobbying street family rehabilitation matters at national, regional
and international fora;
(vi) ensuring maintenance of data on street families;
(vii) conducting public awareness on the plight of street families; and
(viii) promoting research on street families rehabilitation.
(i) administration of civil registry, allocation of case files, legal advice to and
undertaking litigation on behalf of National and County governments,
undertaking arbitrations, asset-tracing and recovery/debt collection;
(ii) drafting and reviewing complex documents, contracts and international
agreements;

(iii) drafting of complex bills and subsidiary legislation;
(iv) providing legal advice and opinions to Ministries/State Departments and State
Corporations;
(v) preparation of statutes for revision and publication of the annual supplement to
the Laws of Kenya;
(vi) overseeing and coordinating administration of Estates and Trusts in Head Office
as well as Regional offices;
(vii) oversee and co-ordinate legal functions, property management and conveyance
and co-ordinate Ex-Officio Agents;
(viii) carrying out in-house settlement of disputes;
(ix) prosecuting matters before the Disciplinary Tribunal and handling alternative
dispute resolution;
(x) undertaking duties of an Official Receiver or Deputy Registrar;
(xi) supervision of registries including companies, business names, societies, coat of
arms, marriages, divorce and adoptions;
(xii) signing of statutory documents and issuing gazette notices;
(xiii) initiating research on emerging legal issues, preparing legal opinions and briefs;
and
(xiv) initiating policy research, formulation and reform; advising Ministries/State
Departments on legal policy issues; preparing periodic/country reports and
ensuring compliance with regional and international instruments, ensuring
compliance with principles and values of good governance, human rights,
transparency, accountability, ethics and integrity.

equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iv) a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less

(vii) Membership of a recognized counseling professional body;
(v) demonstrated professional competence and ability as reflected in work
performance and results; and
(vi) demonstrated a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and
ability to relate to the psychological counseling functions.

(iv) preparing reports on the administration and management of the Government
Human Resource Information System;
(v) initiating, developing, updating and maintaining human resource development
data base;
(vi) spearheading and advising on appropriate training programmes;
(vii) undertaking training needs assessment and developing appropriate training

(viii) monitoring and evaluating the impact of training programmes on performance
and service delivery.

(iii) coordinating the development of staffing norms and modeling for optimal use of
human resource;
(iv) undertaking job analysis and job evaluation in the Public Service;
(v) designing organizational structures;
(vi) undertaking focused interventions to support the implementation of broad
transformations including merger of Ministries, Departments and Agencies,
separation of functions, expansion of functions, re-organization of functions and
