The goal of music for all students, (including those with exceptionalities) is to educate them to be sensitive to music, knowledgeable about it, and
somewhat skilled in its performance. TUNEFUL BEATFUL ARTFUL

Materials: Keyboards, Keyboard Book, Jury 2 Slides, Progress Excel Sheet, Pencil/Pen

Procedures: (Add additional activities as necessary)


Musical activities: singing, playing, moving, listening, creating, rhythmic practice, pitch/melodic practice, expressive elements, etc..

Activity/Music Procedure Purpose/Objective


1. C Major, G7, 1. Chord by chord, say the three notes in a chord and have the 1
and F Major students play them on their pianos. Make mention of chord

2. Slurs/Ties 2. Explain the difference between the two. Slurs is dealing more with the 2
articulation while ties deal more with note duration.

3. Dotted Half Make mention of this note and the difference between it and a 3
Note regular half note

4. Dynamic Review the different dynamic markings. Write each on the 2


Markings board ask what the differences are (I.e. between p and mp or f
and mf)

5. Check off Have students resume working on their progress sheets as you N/A
go around and check them off on the Excel sheet
