Spread of Digital Education

All countries have a universal right to education in the world. Similarly, this trend is also seen in
India. In India with the emergence of Digital Education, education has spread out.

Phukan,(2016) said, with the development of Internet, mobile phones, mobile apps, tablets,
laptops, and other modern devices human society is becoming more and more digitalized in
today’s world. Similarly, the education sector aslo digitalized in the same way. The education
system in India’s metros and other cities has also become modernized to a great extent, making
way for digitalization.

According to Hindman, (2000) Traditional pattern of teaching like textbook learning, teachers’
using the blackboard to explain things and students writing down notes in copies all are less
practice today. Teacher-centred methods of teaching and task-based approaches to learning
focused more on making notes and memorization. However, it’s no more chalk and talk in most
institution. Classroom teaching has become more and more interactive nowadays with the use of
digital methods such as PPTs, video presentations, e-learning methods, practical demos, online
training and other digital methods or platforms.

According to Mahapatra,(2006) Today, India is one of the world’s top destinations for
education. With some of the best colleges and universities, it is famous for its excellence and
high standards. This type university is located Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad,
Kolkata, Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Jodhpore and so on. Students in all these universities are
educating through modern learning, because teachers are uses modern teaching technique like
video presentations, e-learning methods, practical demos, online training and other digital
methods. Not only in the urban areas, but it is also spreading in the school, college, university of
rural areas also.

According to census 2011, the position of literacy rate of West Bengal is 20th in India. It is the
below average number of state in India. Since, from last few days the modern education system
in W.B is developed by the social reformists and govt. policy. As a result in the education sector
in W.B also changed.

Das, (2011) proposed now Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Schools is a
component of the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). The ICT in Schools was
launched in December, 2004 and revised in 2010 to provide opportunities to secondary stage
students to mainly build their capacity on ICT skills and make them learn through computer
aided learning process.

All the students use smartphone and get internet facilities as they are able to get access to
Wi-Fi facility in the university campus, or even in the classroom. This internet facility of Wi-Fi
enabled them (students) to get in touched with current affairs, news and any updated
information about all around the world so easily which is very helpful for their education.
