Title of Podcast

Elevator Music

Podcast topic

Four newly college students talking about their experiences adjusting to a new school, the problems
they may be experiencing while growing up, and giving any advice they may have learned.

Genre of Podcast

The category our podcast would fall into is society and culture. The podcast “Elevator Music”
consists of the four co-hosts discussing relevant topics within the society of students and
teenagers/adults. It focuses on the problems they may be facing and what they are doing to deal
with them. In doing so all four of the co-hosts are giving advice on overcoming these challenges. Not
only is it relevant to current topics and the society of students but it discusses problems that others
may be facing such as stress or mental/physical wellness. The podcast is surrounded around the
topics going on in several peoples lives and shows how there are others experiencing the same
thing.

attending their first year of college.

movies, eating, and crafting (usually in tandem).

drawing. Loves listening to music and watching movies and shows.

to being in a new school. In her free time she enjoys watching tv shows and movies, whether it is by
herself, friends, or family.

Lily Tahvildari is Secondary Education (English) major. Coming from a small high school and
transitioning to a huge college, her goal is to get used to attending Arizona State University. She
enjoys watching tv shows in her spare time and having alone time once in a while.

Estimated Length of show

The estimated length of the podcast episodes would be about 40 to 60 minutes long. Since the
podcast “Elevator Music” consists of for co-hosts this would be the descent length that allows for a
deep meaningful conversation. It gives each person roughly about 10 to 15 minutes to talk and share
their input on the topic being discussed. Podcasts are usually around this time length and it gives
people enough time to talk with one another rather than rush through it.

Proposed Frequency of show

Our estimated frequency of the show is two times a month. It provides the four college students with
time. Since we are busy balancing our schooling and personal lives, it would be realistic to have
them upload an episode twice a month. It not only works with their schedule, but during that time
frame they may experience something new. While the week passes it gives us time to reflect and
collect our ideas so we can share our thoughts or any advice we may have learned.

We have chosen this format because it structures the podcast in a clear order and format. So in a
way it is a story with an introduction, the topics discussed, and the outro. This specific outline helps
things flow in an orderly manner rather than having it all over the place. It is especially helpful with a
podcast having co-hosts.

Script vs Outline

For the podcast “Elevator Music”, all four of us have decided on utilizing an outline instead of a
script. With four co-hosts, it may be risky because we can steer off track, but if a script is used
instead then it would be more structured. It would seem as we are not having a genuine
conversation and sharing our genuine thoughts as we go along in the conversation. With the outline
it gives us the freedom to have a meaningful conversation with one another and thus show our
genuine selves to those listening to the podcast. In some podcast episodes there may be guests, so
there is more input and viewpoints on the topic discussed on the podcast. The outline structure
would also help in this case because it allows guests to be open to a conversation instead of staying
on a specific conversation.

Cover Image

Our cover image consists of our podcast name along with an elevator. The elevator is a key
component to our friendship since it is the location where all four of us met. Ever since our first
elevator ride together, we take it together when we go from one class to another. On our ride we talk
to one another and ask each other how we are currently doing or anything new that has happened to
us. It is the time to catch up with one another. Instead of having the usual “elevator music” it is filled
with our conversations and laughters.
