ESSENTIALISM

“Vocation is my profession”. Being an essentialist teacher in 21st century is both


honour and responsibility, this is our profession, it feeds on continuing professional
education, to be a good influence on the youth and impressionable,

It is our pleasure them to love learning. We promote intellectual growth for


competence, to train students basic skills and cultural literacy, we teacher have the power and
authority to discipline students in the classroom. We focus on the 3’Rs which is reading,
writing, and arithmetic we are not also radically reshape the culture and values of the
students but to impart it.

According to Henry Adams once said “A teacher affects eternity no one knows where his
influence stops.”

EXISTENTIALISM

Being a teacher in 21st century, I will let myself to explore and discover things that
really help me to become more knowledgeable person, it is also lead me on how to handle
students that have a different ideas and stands just to pursue their opinions. As existentialist
teacher, I will let my students to have freedom to choose so that they will know their self
better.

We teach them on how to understand and appreciate themselves as unique individual


and accept complete responsibility for their own thoughts, feelings and actions.

Values is also implicated in existentialist, in which teacher should consider the


individual differences and their freedom to choose. Teacher should not judgemental to their
students, know them and understand them as a unique one.

ESSENTIALISM

Teaching is my vocation as an essentialist teacher in 21st century we promote


intellectual growth for the 21st century learner’s competence. It is essential to master first the
basic skills and values, in order for them to easy to learn the complex skills needed in
preparation for adult life.

In 21st century the essentialist teacher is academically rigorous. For them to acquire
the knowledge, essentialist teacher teach not to radically reshape society but rather to
transmit the traditional moral values and intellectual knowledge that students need to become
a model citizens. As you can see now a days most of the students are very aggressive, and
even stubborn. So its time for the essentialist teacher to put discipline and authority, for
them to learn and to impart essential knowledge.

Even now we essentialist teacher is still exist. Through essentialism we can use our
skills and prior knowledge that can be utilize from now.

Let the student learn not only the basic skills or the essential knowledge but also the
discipline to become a good nation builder.
