“Final Reflection”

Someone once told me, “Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the

hands of great teachers is transformational”. Yes, technology is changing everyday and we as a

people can not always keep up with it, because each year there’s always something new creating

more difficulties on us people because now we have to learn how to operate this new idea and

understand the formation of it. Over these past couple of months I experienced new ways on how

to go about things through technology and gained new knowledge about these different projects I

have done. Who would have known that all these different sources of technology could impact

on my future career of teaching in a positive and negative way. Technology is like the new era of

this time period it’s in almost everyone’s daily lives and we see it everywhere creating change

and impacting society.

These projects and reflections that I encountered have brought me to some problems and

challenges on trying to complete them. One of the challenges I have faced was I really had to be

creative and think outside the box when trying to complete some of these projects, because

having a creative mind has a positive impact on how well your project might turn out to where

it’s not all boring and simple but creative and filled with color. A problem I had was with the

inquiry project I was not a big fan of that one because we had to go to the Ignited Labs and

experience these different fields and how technology ties within them. Having to do that I

honestly was not too sure on how to approach it but somehow I figured it out and the problem
was that it did not interest me because I was so confused on how it might help me in my

education field I honestly thought that one was a little pointless and they should have switched it

out with a more impactful one. Dealing with non-fun projects is kind of difficult because your

grade depends on it so you can not really back out of that. So in a way you have to make this

project more entertaining on your own and hopefully you learn how to improve and comprehend

from it.

Technology is a big topic and all these projects have opened my eyes and realized that there are

so many resources and materials that I can use when I go into my teaching career and how it will

impact and help the students as well. Just like the Construction Module project I never thought

powerpoint had all those extra uses and sources that you can use when doing a presentation or

just putting a slideshow together in general. These projects helped me to go beyond what you are

thinking of and go the extra mile to finish and find out what these technologies are made of and

what they are capable of. The way I thought of technology before taking this class was that I

really thought it was pointless and I might not even learn anything but I was wrong. This class

has taught me more about technology and all the resources that can be used and be helpful. The

way I think about technology now is that I am thankful I took this class and that it was required

because now I have an idea on how I could be a successful teacher through all these technologies

that are being projected and I have learned throughout this semester. Even if it’s as simple as

doing a newsletter project at longs you use your creativity and show that you actually put effort

into it your bound to get a good grade for it.

If i had the chance to redo the projects how I would approach it different is to make use of my

time and put more effort into them so I could get the best grade that is possible. I would already

have an understanding of the concept so it would make it a little easier to put it together,
however this time I will be putting more creativity and thought into it so it will come out better

than before. Redoing a project might help you and your understanding/process of the project you

will be building ideas off of what you already have and taking that information and making it

greater than it was before. It builds a mindset and system in your head that stretches out your

thinking skills and helps you build more structure to what your trying to do. In my opinion,

redoing a project to make it better is not the worst option and it’s definitely a new learning

experience so in regards redoing a project is probably a more reasonable and great way to learn

new things and experience what you are made of.

One goal that I would set for myself for next semester is to be persistent and do not be afraid to

give it your all when working on projects and just put your piece of mind out there. Setting goals

and self motivating yourself builds character and puts your mind into a pattern that will

eventually help you in the,omg run because you’ll know what you have to do without the

procrastination trying to tempt you. Goals is what builds you up so you can reflect on how far

you have come and show you that your one step closer to where you want to go. So go set some

goals and see if you can accomplish them because one day you will realize that at one point in

your life you could not see yourself in the position you are in now and trust me it will make you

proud that your doing you and nobody can get in the way of that.

In conclusion, this mess tee was great and all great things have to come to an end but I have

learned so much and glad I got to be in this class because it was a fulfilment and now I know

more things then when I first started the class. This class definitely has impacted me on how I

could teach my future students and all the resources that will be available to them and how they

can consume the resources that are being given to them. Technology however will be a great
source especially to teachers in the long run so trying to get involved into today’s technology and

knowing all the ins and outs of it will be very resourceful when trying to teach it.
